I went at like 2 in the afternoon and it was empty.
I didn't go to Schwartz's but walked past several times and it just had a real funky smell.

airbnb we're eyeing is like around the corner from there so i feel like it'd be a travesty not to go. also we're looking at a 4/5 day trip so plenty of time.

Only spot on the our list neither of us have been to is Vancouver. Vancouver is very cool. I have been several times, but just for work. Mrs ten15 and I have it on our list. If you go, you need to go to a show with arbee. He's almost like a celebrity at the music venues - he knows everyone. Gastown is a cool area. Alibi Room is a great beer bar with solid food. Railway Beer Cafe is cool - they usually have live music as well.

I have a friend who lives there now - we have an open invite. Trying to make that work out in 2020.

This might be a dumb question but do bluetooth headphones work on a plane?

Post by andrewvb on Feb 13, 2019 22:55:36 GMT -6
yeah. when i put my phone into airplane mode, it turns bluetooth off, which is annoying. but then you can just turn it back on and reconnect your headphones.

Thank you! My bluetooth ones are a bit more noise canceling but I figured I'd bring both kinds anyway.

Honestly, one of my fave things about flying Turkish was having a layover in Ataturk and getting to try all the different kinds of Turkish delight in the airport.

No time on the way here, as there was only like an hour in between flights. Good to know for the way back though, we'll have a little more time then.

Nonstop flights to Puerto Vallarta were $325 over Good Friday weekend this morning, had to jump on that. Gonna tack a couple of extra vacation days on.

Everyone I know was in Puerto Vallarta this week, looked gorgeous!
Temps are picking back up in Melbourne, low 80s now. I've adjusted the ratio of shorts to jeans in my hypothetical suitcase.

Pretty sure I know the answer to this one but is there anything worth eating in Naperville? Specifically near the Marriott? I’ll be there for work a couple nights next week and the concept of eating in a hotel restaurant sounds awful.

Maggiano's? Catch 35? Lou Malnati's? Any of those would be better than the hotel restaurant.

I’ll be there for work a couple nights next week and the concept of eating in a hotel restaurant sounds awful. It's a big Chicago suburb, so you'll have tons of options... But I do see Chinn's 34th St. Fishery is very close, if work is footing the bill for dinner, that would be worth it. Very good seafood.

Also if the weather was better, that's not far from the Morton Arboretum, which is good for a nice hike/walk

These are good things to know, I just don’t want to eat at shitty chains I have near me and that was all I noticed at first glance, and really wondered if anyone had good recommendations. I have a reasonable per diem. Here’s a work dinner question. Is it considered rude to do my own thing rather than intentionally hang out with the mass of my coworkers that will be at the same event? Keep in mind none of these people work in my specific office and I don’t know them pretty much at all. I kinda just want to take a pizza or something back to my room and watch the oscars the Sunday night I’m there but I don’t know if that’s shitty or not.

If you weren't the new guy and knew them better, I'd say it's okay. If they're going somewhere, I'd tag along.
