oh god, the feral hogs are coming for us all. Many experts thought the pigs couldn’t thrive in cold climates. But they burrow into the snow in winter, creating so-called pigloos — a tunnel or cave with a foot or two of snow on top for insulation. Many have developed thick coats of fur.

The two inspectors say they wouldn't even eat meat processed by their employer."If this continues across the nation, when you open your package of meat, what you're gonna get for a pathogen is gonna be a mystery," Mauer added.
i should stop reading.

Has that not been the case for years now?

Why are we not making this a video game?
States and federal agencies are monitoring the border. Should the pigs advance, wildlife officials plan an air assault, hunting the pigs from planes with high-tech equipment like night-vision goggles and thermal-imaging scopes. They’re testing waterways for pig DNA, and turning to more traditional approaches — hunting dogs and shotguns...Gunning feral pigs from helicopters with semiautomatic weapons is a popular sport in Texas.

Has that not been the case for years now? the administration very recently finalized plans to allow for fewer meat inspections in less time. there is now no limit on speeds for pig slaughter lines.

Found this new giant Jim O'Rourke interview today, featuring 25 album recommendations, none of which I have ever heard of. Saving this for tomorrow when I'll have more time to throw on Bad Timing and enjoy it.

Yeah - this was absolutely awful. We lived in an old brick building in Wicker Park at the time with only a window unit air conditioner in the bedroom. When we used it, all of the other power in the apartment would brown out. We had 2 taper candles on our mantle that completely melted.

One of the things I remember most from this summer was going to see the Jayhawks at the Vic right in the middle of the worst of the heat. They had huge fans on the stage pointing at the band at first, but like a song or two in the band all aimed their fans towards the audience. Sounds dumb, but I thought that was a really great thing that showed they actually cared about the people there
