Funny you mention that, b/c I agree. 

Snakeskin was jarring for me. It was nothing like they'd sounded in the past. It was funky, groovy, and I dig that track a lot, but its still not my favorite track by them, or even from FF. 

Monomania was even more of a left turn, and took a bit more to grow accustomed to. But it ended up being one of my favorites from the album. 

Revival I'd heard live already, but to hear it in studio form was awesome. Love that song. 


Naturally, I love the song. It's got an Americana vibe, but closes the gap between FF and Microcastle a bit. Bradford's lyrics are moving a bit more in your face, which I'm fine with. Not sure where or if Lockett will get a chance to shine on this record as the tracks already played live were all Bradford.

Great description there - I love how bright this track feels instrumentally, from the harpsichord to the snappy sounding drums. Then I was totally won over by the Fripp-esque guitar solo. Beautiful stuff. I loved MM and was lukewarm on FF, but I am very onboard for wherever this is going. But yea lol, here's hoping Lockett got invited to the party too.
