MI'm a SW suburbs person, so IRT KB, the Forge actually works for me. If you're in the city, it's a trek. They mostly host second/third tier metal shows or second/third tier rap shows. I've only seen the venue PACKED once (for Static-X) and it was still very manageable. Free parking, decent sightlines from a small floor. Capacity around 1000, can get warm in there in the summer. I'll take even marginal offers for free shows there because it's so convenient compared to the city. YMMV My alternate DoMore offer is Fit for An Autopsy & Exodus at the Forge December 2nd. Do you want these tickets? |

I'm not sure whether to put this here or elsewhere...maybe there's already a post about it and I'm late to the game.
Do312 More texted me today and asked if I wanted in on text distribution of tickets. I agreed and they immediately sent me 5 offers. The problem (for me) is that the offers ended in 45 minutes. In addition to the "90's Rock Legends Night" dij posted about elsewhere and the Exodus show noted above, I received "Migration (the movie) advanced screening", Confidence Man, Flex at the Annoyance Theater, Girlhouse, and J Roddy Walston. Girlhouse was a maybe for my wife, but I couldn't get to her to check the calendar in the 45 minutes so all of these offers were essentially rejected by the clock running out and now show up on my account as expired.
I then got another text from Do312 more asking what I thought about the texting. Basically 1-4 rating system. I gave it a low rating and they got right back to me by e-mail asking why.
I don't know about you guys, but I need more time so that's what I told them. Also, I asked whether the text replaces my monthly e-mail offer? Or is it in addition to the main monthly offer? And, am I now back in the pool for another text because these offers expired? Or am I SOL? I'm happy to work with them because I've had offers that worked for us the last 5 months, but I still have questions.

I won a free wine tasting event from Do816. The problem was that i was notified that I had won 90 minutes after the event had already started. I didn't even reply to the email.

I was going to ask c1916 about the text thing, I have not heard about that yet. Might be a good way to fill some random nights if you are lucky, but yeah it's hard to work with that little notification. Might be a good way to get decent tickets though

Might be a good way to get decent tickets though Based on two of the things dij was offered, it looks like the contents of my text today was in line with what dij received via e-mail... I received all 5 of mine at the same time. dij got an offer, declined and got the follow up options, but the end result looks pretty similar. Since they contacted me about what I thought about the program, I did ask them the questions from my previous post. If they respond, I'll update here. If the text is "additional stuff" that's a nice little bonus. If not, I don't know that it'll be beneficial. I have no idea why I was selected to be part of the text program. I can't possibly be their target demographic since I'm suburban and an old. |

Had a couple of the usual cover band offers from Do312. Turned them down and was offered "Tiffany" in February. Way up in Lincolnshire, but why not. On the off chance those of you with memberships are interested it might be worth dropping them an e-mail.

Fo312 added me to their text list too, came at the same time as the usual email though. My offer and the backups were for some comedy shows at the Annoyance Theater, so I'm assuming we'll see a lot more of those

I don't know who l'rain is, but schubas is walking distance home, although I have day 8 of court hearings tomorrow, I haven't been to a show since the alligator records xmas party at navy pier w/ shemekia copeland and 4 other blues people, so, YES, mookie! L'Rain is fantastic. I saw her open for Animal Collective |
