My buddy took a little less than he paid, but are pit tickets going for significantly under face somewhere? When I checked Stubhub earlier they were right in that range all in. $82 all in for tomorrow right now. |

I bought two tickets to Pelican at Gman friday forgetting I had plans. Imagine its super sold out and can move otherwise but if anyone wants them lmk I think they were like $18 each after fees

Curious I think it was just kinda a victim of its own success. Cute mildly themed dj event w/merch & signing that should've only been a single dj night or whatever rather than an early and late show. Just a hood internet set with a bus themed move clip show and some props and posters available to be signed. The only times the crowd really reacted is when they played Dave which was infrequent (the thing that comes to mind was an "ants marching" "take me to the river" mashup which was a stupid joke but also sounded good). Mostly they just played the same set they would've played in 2006 to some polite dancing. There was one person who was dancing so much that it almost seemed performative and than I saw in the block club article that it was a very moderately notable tv writer which made me lol I think there were a fair amount of people there for both the author or for Dave and both would leave disappointed but as someone who spent no money it was a pleasant diversion at 5pm I had 5 wooden legs. |

Not that this was some kind of amazing feat, but I approximated a wooden leg recipe and it is my go-to cocktail when I’m at home. Such a solid, easy, old man/lady drink.

Yeah, for sure: Two cubes in a rocks glass Three dashes of Angostura aromatic bitters 1/2 oz (fresh squeezed, ideally) lemon juice 2 oz rye whiskey (I like Rittenhouse) Give it a stir Top w/ plain seltzer, leaving some room for additional ice Give it another stir Add a couple additional cubes Garnish with spent lemon slice Sip & enjoy! I welcome rango420 's comparison/critique vs. the real thing |

rye/soda/bitters/spent lemon/lemon garnish. Depending on the bartender they are sometimes more or less heavy handed with the bitters. Usually more than three. I believe its angostura but if it was grapefruit bitters wouldn't be shocked.

I figured this out around the time COVID hit and I distinctly remember noting that they used Angostura bitters in this Hideout video I saw at the time.
