my only show that had any member of the mc5 in it was what tom morello called "the justice tour" at park west, because one of the acts was the now deceased Wayne Kramer on guitar, with the now deceased Mars Williams on saxophone doing some free jazz.

Owner of Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar and Grill, Toby Keith. i'm sad one of my fellow okies has passed, he seemed to be getting better the last year or so. but i'll never forget his drunken red solo cup guest spot at a train show when they sang tom petty's free fallin and he butchered it. i'll always have the memory ;–)

Aw damn. Years ago Amazon had a deal where you could download all of his albums for free. They weren't all great - Frenzy is the best one - but they each had a couple of songs worth a few laughs. His version of 'This Land is Your Land' is the definitive one. R.I.P.
Thoughts with @nature Boy.

Word is spreading that we lost Damo Suzuki of Can. Fucking sucks, one of the coolest dudes ever.

I've gotten more into CAN the last few years and there just really truly wasn't anything that sounded like them back then, and there still really isn't today. My brother's loved them longer than me and I've been letting him school me all morning.

Was planning on seeing the Damo Suzuki Network in 2020, but then Covid. R.I.P.

RIP Dexter Romweber of Flat Duo Jets. I *think* they were the first guitar/drums-only band I ever heard.

Aw god dammit... I've kept up with the new season of Curb and was really hoping he'd be on by now. I thought they said he did manage to film some scenes last year

what was the Curb episode where he and larry are riffing on their wardrobes and then larry goes "when are you gonna die?" that's got to be played at the memorial service.

He made it for one episode - that’s when Larry first meets Irma. That’s a great final scene together. Love Lewis. RIP.

RIP to Eric Carmen, singer for power-pop (and Cleveland) legends Raspberries. "Go All the Way" is the big hit, but these guys had some bangers. Gonna kick out the jams tomorrow on my commute.

As corny as it is (sax solo!), I still like 'Hungry Eyes'. 'Make Me Lose Control' was another top 5 for him around the late 80's, but I don't like it much.
As monastery already said, 'Go All the Way' is a banger.

RIP to Boss - the first female MC signed to Def Jam back in the day. Came across her story when reading Clover Hope's indispensable The Motherlode. But more importantly, she ruled. Do give this one a listen if you're unfamiliar. Boss was only 54.
