It clearly wasn't written by a professional, but I think it falls within the relatively broad spectrum of how people express their grief. this. And it can't be something lost in translation because having been to Sweden (and having an ex that studied abroad there for a year), you really have to put effort into finding a Swede who doesn't speak fluent English.

jesus christ TMZ: AVICII, SUICIDE BY BROKEN GLASS ...kinda graphic description btw Avicii committed suicide with broken glass he used to cut himself ... TMZ has learned.
Multiple sources familiar with the circumstances surrounding the famous DJ's death tell us, he did indeed take his own life ... something his parents alluded to last week.
Our sources say the method of death was a shard of glass that caused massive bleeding. Two sources tell us Avicii broke a bottle and used the glass to inflict the fatal wound. One of the sources says it was a wine bottle.
Two sources tell us the point of injury was Avicii's neck but another strongly denies that, saying it was his wrist. We cannot confirm this, but the sources were privy to specific information about Avicii's death.

RIP to John "Jabo" Starks - longtime drummer for the JB's, and part of one of the tightest rhythmic tracks I've ever heard.

I'm not sure whether I needed to know if it was his wrist or his neck.

Not Lil Troy, but Big T, the guy who sings the hook to this song, passed away

Aw man.
Fun fact, his great-nephew Eric was a friend (and my thespians sponsor) in high school and he went on to play Greg the lab tech on CSI for approximately 5000 seasons

Wow that's crazy this says he was in 327/337 episodes of that show. That must have been such a solid comfy gig. And he got to be in a Marilyn Manson video!

Yeah after he moved to California he was friends with Marilyn Manson when he was dating Dita Von Teese. I think he's still friends with Dita, they were at one of the Lollas here a while back. I imagine he is pretty comfy with residuals?
He was a good dude, he once cast me in an environmentally focused gender bending version of Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure for Earth Day. And he gave me a ticket for the last Dead show at Soldier Field but my parents wouldn't let me go.

Man, that last tweet is heartbreaking.
"Be so good to everyone you love. It’s not a given. I’m so annoyed that it’s not. I didn’t live by that standard and it kills me. Please, hug your loved ones. I’m away now. Thanks."
Seriously guys, if you need some help, talk to someone. Family, friends, a random internet stranger on the board. Anyone.

One of my favorite bands. Old Old Fashioned was one of the first songs I danced around the house to with my daughter. This fucking sucks.

I was a casual fan, and I dug the Mastersystem album. I'd just started really listening to them last year, and the lady was getting into them as well. She went to BSS with us just to see Frightened Rabbit based off of one song. Bought a shirt and everything. Really fucking sad.

Yeah after he moved to California he was friends with Marilyn Manson when he was dating Dita Von Teese. I think he's still friends with Dita, they were at one of the Lollas here a while back. That was the year The Cure headlined -- also with them was Jessicka from Jack Off Jill who I was Facebook friends with. I spent that whole weekend searching around desperately trying to meet them, but never did :/

I talked to him after their Lolla set a few years back (he had been wearing a 9:30 Club t-shirt and I wanted to show my appreciation) and he seemed like a genuinely nice guy.

It's not much, but I'm at least glad the family is able to get the body and have some level of closure. This reminded me so much of the Manic Street Preachers guitarist disappearance where there was never any answers.

The Modern Leper is one of my favorite songs, the lyrics are incredible, and the build is fantastic. I remember loving their Lolla and Loufest 2016 sets. And this one hits especially hard due to the content of their songs. This is from an interview published just last week: "Thinking about songs like “Floating in the Forth”—I didn’t kill myself. I took that forward into other records. There’s got to be a sense that, as fucked as life can get, we’re still alive and we’re still doing this and we’re going to attempt to carry on. Really glad I got to see Frightened Rabbit at the Empty Bottle back when they were touring The Midnight Organ Fight. I loved that album so much back in 2008 and listened to it tons.
