Thirsty Monk out of Asheville just opened up a Denver location. This is cool. I liked the Asheville one. And we had some Sun Crusher the other day. 'Twas good.

I'm trying to think what my summer brew is going to be. I don't think I've ever had a set one (save for cheap PBR in college) Modelo tall boys

I'm trying to think what my summer brew is going to be. I don't think I've ever had a set one (save for cheap PBR in college) idk if you have a good one (well its Chicago you have to) but theres a texas brewery here that does an awesome Gose that's my summer beer every summer
though another brewery here has a gose I love maybe even more but its only been available on tap until this year, they are finally going to can it seasonally this summer. so that might become my go to if its as good in a can as on tap
but basically my suggestion is a gose

I second this. Westbrook (from SC, but distribution in NYC maybe elsewhere?) makes an outstanding Gose.

I don't even know what a Tom Collins tastes like. Bourbon all year round.

A Tom Collins was the first alcoholic beverage I ever had. I think that's why I've always hated gin.

Greg Avola, co-founder of Untappd, will be at the Goose Island brewpub next Saturday if anyone here cares.

Cerebral and Outer Range are absolutely kicking ass with their IPA releases. Anyone traveling through Denver and the mountains west of the city should try to stop in either brewery. They released a collab today that is incredible. Both remind me a lot of what Other Half is doing in NYC.

scoots what's your take on Great Divide brewing? I had a Titan IPA at a bar a few days ago and I thought it was a fine beer

I wasn't a huge fan of Great Divide until I visited Denver. Their OG brew pub is pretty neat and it looks like the space they're using for their barrel aged program is going to be pretty cool when it's all finished.

I mean I trust your opinion on most things. This is the only beer that I've had from them, don't know what's available around here or if it's worth seeking out

Sometimes we get some cool variants of Yeti but not much else

To get the full experience I suggest touring their brewery after eating an edible. Hopefully it'll hit you while you're in the middle of the tour and you struggle to act normal only to realize that's probably not necessarily

All Yeti varieties are still really terrific, but I generally don't go for their 6-packs all that often. When we first moved out there they had a brewer who was doing some really great stuff with their bombers and taproom only stuff, but he's since left and started his own brewery elsewhere in the city. They've kind of dropped off a bit since then. Collette, Hoss and Rumble are still really good, though.

Also in terms of edibles don't go for the full 10mg option and instead do the 5mg mints/chocolates. I can't do the full strength stuff and stay upright, but 5mg is pretty perfect.
