Old Irving was a fun time! Thanks to teekoh for making it out, too!
Very good beer and I probably drank 1 or 2 more than needed.

Glad to hear it’s good! I’ll have to check it out sometime. A fun fact, we were like 30 yards away from each other briefly because we were going to eat at Tavernakaya but their kitchen inexplicably closes at 8:30 and we were headed for a late dinner.

I haven't had much interest in the BCBS series of late, but I'd definitely like to try the Blanton's.

Trying to imagine the reaction E would have if I rolled up with even more of those fuckers since we loaded up in Peoria last year. I like to drink them but I really only drink with other people and E doesn't drink much so what I'm saying is some people are gonna have to come over and drink some of these with me.

I have a basement full of those things. Ancient ones too, at this point. Idk if they're even any good anymore, but I am similarly not in a rush to drink them. Stupid beer.

Cerebral is selling an Other Half collab along with guest 4-packs, so I picked up DDH All Green Everything. I think it'll be the first time I've had it since my 2017 visit to NYC when I went to the brewery with doso.

I drank a number of beers in Michigan and none of them were very good. Oddly, New Holland is doing great things with hard seltzers and canned cocktails, however.

The canned blueberry gin lemonade cocktail is good. You can get it at Binny's. However, I have not been able to find the blueberry gin from New Holland anywhere in Chicago. Want to make my own, non-carbonated version. May need to go back to Michigan. Agree about being somewhat underwhelmed with SW Michigan beers. Many were fine, but none of them really wowed me. Did not make it to Bells, however.

I got as far north as Brewery Vivant in Grand Rapids (had a brief thing with a Vivant fanboy some years ago so had to try it, neither my friend nor I were impressed) and my friend got up to Hoplot in Sutton's Bay which looked great. We also found Iron Fish Distillery down a dirt road on the way back from a hike and holy cats those were some delicious cocktails. Wood fired pizza with local meats/veg on it was amazing too.

I'd say it's well worth a little side trip. Nice outdoor seating, too, and an area with yard games.

Went to a little beer festival in a nature preserve today with my college roommates. One of them won the raffle for a year's worth of beer, which was 52 cases lol
*edit* I should add that all 52 cases were there, stacked in a pyramid, and we had to load them up and take them home right then
