Is that supposed to be funny? It says comedy in the title but I don't think it's very funny.

Isn't the whole point of this thread to look past your preconceived notions?

Also, look at this: I've come across this a couple of times at record stores and would've bought it for the art alone if I just collected records for the sake of collecting them. here's the "moving" version. <3 Real talk while I know you are already committing to a crazy undertaking, I would suggest you also explore her visual art and videos throughout this process as well whenever you can. Her music videos and visuals per album are really an integral part of her creative career and take her music to another level. There's few artists I'd say that about. #fangirlalert Enjoy! hope your life is changed forever Agreed with all this, Björk is a true artist in every sense of the word

Post notes:
Hyperballid is a good song. This whole poppy electronic thing is not what I expected Bjork to sound like honestly, or even remember sounding like. Feels good to break down expectations and rigid, borderline nonsensical views huh?
"It's Oh So Quiet" went full show tune on me there.
It's increasingly clear to me that my girlfriend will enjoy this album a lot more than I am. That does not mean it is bad. It is not bad. But I'm not living for it, if that makes sense.
Big fan of the diversity of sounds on "I Miss You". Especially the bongos. Who doesn't love a good bongo/steel drum beat?
I wanted to like this more than I did. I really did. But the only song I added to my big ol playlist was "Hyperballid". Maybe I'll buy this on wax for my girlfriend this Christmas and I'll grow into it more. It's worked before.
3/5 Tweets
I've heard stuff starts getting weirder and/or more experimental after this one, is that accurate?

Fwiw: I'm not a big Bjork fan either, and have run through her first five albums at various times in the last year or two. The one that finally struck me and got me on the side of liking her music was Vespertine.

To be fair, listening to Bjork's albums for the first time now is very different from listening to them when they came out. Way back when Debut and Post came out, it felt like Bjork was so far ahead of everyone. To discover her now when music has changed so much--partly due to her own influence--surely makes her music seem much less exciting.
And damn it makes me feel really old to think back to when Debut was new.

When I first joined up on here someone, I don't remember who, was hyping Bjork nonstop i applaud you for pretending that this was anyone other than pulp Was gonna say: just @ me next time, haha.
Björk is a damn QUEEN and an ICON and her discography is FLAWLESS (other than Volta, which is trash, but has a couple real-ass bangers on it just 2 keep u on yr toes.)

nothing has changed from my post more than a yr ago -- I still hate Tom Waits, and have since I first heard Step Right Up played on the radio.
