I hadn't thought about that release at all. I say we count both EPs as one album, if that's cool?

Can we count all 4 (maybe 5) Gizzard releases as one?

Final week! Get your lists up - remember it's a minimum of 20. If you didn't listen to at least 20 albums this year, well... that's just surprising.

I don't know if I have the patience to make a ranked list of 20 because I am hopelessly addled with the wrongbrains. However here are a bunch of albums that I enjoyed in 2017.
Charly Bliss - Guppy Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross - The Vietnam War Couch Slut - Contempt Priests - Nothing Feels Natural The Seven Fields of Aphelion - Keep the Ocean Inside Yazz Ahmed - La Saboteuse Marilyn Manson - Heaven Upside Down Rope Sect - Personae Ingratae Khalid - American Teen

Listening through some albums I may have missed or just to give them another chance:
I can't get into Alex G - seems like the type of album I'd like. Kurt Vile and Courtney Barnett is still meh.
Otherwise it looks like I might actually be able to get a list created on time!

I'm cramming a bunch of stuff I didn't get to until now and unfortunately it's all stuff I knew I would like, but wasn't ever in the mood or didn't have the time I wanted to dedicate to it. Still, hoping to have these in my final list:
Shabazz Palaces - Quazarz Couch Slut - Contempt Milo - who told you to think?!?!?! Destroyer - Ken Circuit des Yeux - Reaching For Indigo Tchornobog - Tchornobog Mount Eerie - A Crow Looked at Me Syd - Fin

Caught up on the Ibeyi and Open Mike Eagle albums this week, wish I had given those more of a chance earlier in the year.

venom , I'm discovering a ton of great stuff off of your list, thanks for posting it. you're welcome. thanks for browsing. i'm glad that a few of those that may not make other lists will land on open ears. this was sort of a neat year for me discovering new music - shazaming at a record shop in tokyo, friend's instagram for bands her boyfriend opened for, album cover caught my eye, read about a band branching off another that i enjoy, etc.

I posted mine. Pile is a late add, but I listened to it four times today. It's fucking good. Priests and Proto are basically tied. In all honesty, I felt fairly disinterested in larger national/intl acts this year, but a lot of my favorite bands put something out, so that was cool.

You know you can do up to 50 albums right? Anything over 50 isn't counted. 20 is the minimum.

Posted - I'm forgetting a lot, and I apparently didn't listen to any metal this year. Or really all that much rap. So yeah.

Honestly 20 albums is a lot, I'll be really reaching to get past 15.

Honestly 20 albums is a lot, I'll be really reaching to get past 15. I didn't have an issue with quantity as much as I didn't really have a clear top 5 like I have in years past. It was a pretty great year for music, but there's not a huge amount that stands out above the rest.

I think I'm gonna get to everything that I really needed to. The worst part is leaving this Mount Eerie album until now and having to listen at work. Not great.
