This one has been rattling around in my brain since the single dropped and now that the album has come out I can confirm it's still jammed in there.

i've barely listened to anything new during covid times. instead i've been getting acquainted with a lot of older music. this roy orbison song came up the other day and completely threw me off. the vocals are there. the story is in his wheelhouse. but the music is something else. it's all over the place with different sections over 7 minutes whereas i'm used to tight two and a half-minute songs by him. i don't know what to think of it, but i've listened to it a lot over the last three days and can't get it out of my head.

Maybe one of the best songs ever? Have you heard the Karl Blau cover of this? Its pretty straightforward, but that whole covers record of his is excellent and introduced me to a lot of great stuff (Tom T. Hall, Link Wray, Tom Rush) - plus an awesome Townes cover

I randomly put this on a travel playlist and now it's been stuck in my head. Threw the whole album on too. I don't think Futures gets it's due credit, this song still slaps and so does Pain.

pod research is gonna give me some earworms i never would expect What is it about tonight that is forcing me to support 15+ yr old punk-pop and emo albums? This album slaps....check out the whole damned thing. There's a Robert Smith feature in there.
