im always driving to StL on blackout wednesday unfortunately. i do get pretty lit once i get to my grandparents' place tho  also i made a fuckload of bacon jam last night for everyone |

I'm thinking about walking over to beat kitchen tonight and spending $12 to finally see green jello / green jelly, but it starts kind of late, there are two opening acts, and I got up before 6 a.m. this morning for no reason. So, I'll see how I feel after dinner as to whether I walk or drive over there. If not, then maybe the better half and I will see Gary Puckett and the Union Gap in Elk Grove Village at their shopping season opener Friday afternoon right before dinner.

Offer to pick up some last minute ingredients, or set the table. I feel like every woman I know has been stressing about this for weeks, it takes some doing to put on a meal like this. |

I generally get run out of the kitchen on holidays like this despite the kitchen/oven experience, but I do get asked for advice, set a mean table, and have been known to go on an emergency grocery run.
This year it's just going to be her immediate family at home, so we're doing the turkey and brussels sprouts. Very excited, but it may also be super stressful.

We stopped traveling to see family on Thanksgiving about 4 years ago. Best decision.
I love my family, but it's just such an unnecessarily stressful holiday, especially with travel.
