I'm Jewish. My mom observes Christmas and all my local friends celebrate. I've been here 18 years and have met only like 4 Jews. Send help. Mrs. Doso and the stepsons are Jewish. The boys' stepmother is from Chapel Hill and her family seems to belong to a vibrant Jewish community in that area. In fact, for two of the past three summers, the red-headed stepchild has attended a Jewish summer camp run by their synagogue. That said, the members of the tribe seem to be generally few and far between in that area. They are here. There is a community, just not the numbers I grew up with. I was raised conservative early on and everyone I associated with when I lived in Phoenix growing up were Jewish, except my very bestie. It's a bit different 'round these parts.  |

Highlights of what I/we got:
- Beastie Boys book
- Bunch of needed clothes and socks
- Subscription to the Athletic
- Some sort of booze subscription from my sister
- Mario Party, Kirby, Pokemon (Eevee), and Diablo for the Switch
- Nnedi Okorafor's first Binti book and her first issue of the Dora Milaje series for Marvel
I booked us a quick weekend in Milwaukee around seeing the stage production of Matilda there for Ashley and she got us an Art Institute membership. Neat stuff!

really nice weekend at home.
-team went to a brazilian steakhouse friday night. made it back home in great time still. stayed up all night watching joe bob and working heavily on book revisions
-lots of errands saturday and then went out to blue duck bbq and martinis for my friend's cover band
-extended family xmas sunday was fine. made cookies with dad and brother afterwards
-dropped off gifts across town and stopped by old job monday. steakhouse dinner (veal with seafood pairing) and church that night
-other family near stl on xmas day and yesterday. lots of drinks.
-made it home in good time yesterday
got some switch games and vinyl and books and blu rays. also a new gaming chair because mine was literally falling apart every time i sat in it. also a really nice set of all new dinnerware stuff
