And I have been using chapstick, thanks for asking. What kind? Blistex does NOTHING for me so I've been using OG Chapstick Burt’s Bees. I usually manage to get a stick around Xmas time that will last just long enough til I undoubtedly lose it as soon as winter ends.

I have tons of lip balms because I'm constantly misplacing them. I usually end up getting a bunch when Kiehl's has some sort of promotion on them so that I can keep them all over them in different pockets and bags and drawers.
Aquaphor has one and I bet it's really good. I'll probably buy some of that, too.

It's really good. Been preferring unscented deodorants lately, though, and I'm trying to find one I like more than Tom's.

I use Chapstick Total Hydration for daytime (and I also use one tube until it's gone) but like the pear flavor from Taylor Street at bedtime.

I don't use chap stick because your lips get used to them and stop moisturizing themselves as much.

I crossed that bridge a long time ago but also I was on acutane as a teen and I'm not certain my lips would moisturize themselves again anyways. It is quite the racket though

I either use the Nivea Moisture or Blistex Total Moisture. They're both great and I don't have a preference I just buy whichever is available/cheaper.

I had a dream last night that I was running a marathon that I half assed the training for. But, I was convinced it was ok because I scored a pair of those pink nike elite running shoes.
I use Nivea Moisture on my lips when I need to.

I started NOOM about a week and a half ago because of the free trial and discount they were offering, and I REALLY like it. I'm already seeing massive changes and it's actually been really easy.

I did it for a while. There were aspects I liked but ultimately it wasn't as effective for me.

I started NOOM about a week and a half ago because of the free trial and discount they were offering, and I REALLY like it. I'm already seeing massive changes and it's actually been really easy. What is this exactly? It's a weight-loss program/app. It doesn't tell you what you can or cannot eat. No supplements. It works by getting at the psychology behind the choices you make. They ask you for a goal weight and give you a short quiz about your lifestyle and then give you a program based on the results. The app has a daily list of articles for you to read and things for you to do, like weigh in and log your food. It asks you questions and has you set goals. (It's oddly satisfying to complete everything on the list every day.) You get a calorie budget that is adjusted based on how active you are over the course of the day. There's a coach who checks in with you maybe once a day (or more if you want, I believe). Anyway, it has started to change a lot of my thinking about eating and food and gotten me to start to understand what I'm doing and why I'm doing it. I'm already often taking less insulin now over an entire day than I used to for one meal, and I've lost about ten pounds. The thing is, though, is that it doesn't seem like I've really made any big changes. That's how easy it is. And I don't feel any stress about any of it, either.

Looks interesting. They say I can lose 18 lbs in two months which seems like a bit much. I might give it a try if my current stuff isn't giving me the results I'm looking for.

I liked aspects of the daily readings, there were definitely things I found helpful like learning what stimulates certain hunger/satiety hormones. And I liked seeing how my daily food intake broke down into certain categories - it made me realize I was eating a LOT of fruits and vegetables but not nearly enough lean protein. And I tracked more faithfully on that app than I have with any other.
But I still somehow gained weight using it, and I think it's because unlike WW, your calorie count isn't front and center so you realize when you're close to going over. If that was fixed I think I might be more successful on it, but for now I'm going back to WW.

Well I had posted something on Adele being chastized on social media for being too heavy, and now, after loosing 100 pounds, getting critized for being too skinny - to highlight how women can never win (but then deleted as I thought it was the wrong thread/forum to post this after all and could perhaps be misinterpreted) Can't see how this is would be an "ok boomer" post (but if this is the case, then I'll happily gain 15 years to become one) ... you posted a comparison photo of adele with the words "100 pounds lost..." above it; didn't see all this great context being added now Yet, it was right under the photos that seem to have click baited you into calling me a boomer...

The choices I make aren't really bad except in terms of balance and portion, so what I'm doing now doesn't feel like a huge adjustment. I was born with really fucked up kidneys, which has caused other problems with my health, and what this has done in helping with my blood sugar feels miraculous. I'm taking so much less insulin--and in case you haven't heard, insulin is kind of expensive, even with good health insurance--so that alone is a huge motivator. I have a friend who also did NOOM for a bit and lost weight on it, but she quit because she was too annoyed by all the questions. The questions aren't my favorite, but I do them because I know they help create some accountability for myself.

I'm curious what adjustments you made that have helped your blood sugar?

I didn't mind the questions and I think for people who don't have other support systems around diet and nutrition the coaching and groups are really helpful. I'm curious what adjustments you made that have helped your blood sugar? The color coding for the food has taught me a lot in terms of balance and portions. Though I already have lots of green in my diet, there are lots of little things that tilt too far into red and yellow, and it has been really easy to get rid of them. For instance, that handful of granola in my yogurt for breakfast: do I need that or is it just a nice and tasty thing? Cheese and/or mayo on this sandwich? Now that I've started looking at those things and cutting them out or reducing them, I've begun to realize that I don't need them at all to be satisfied with what I am eating. More importantly, once I started to make that realization, I began to ask myself why I was eating those things in the first place--and there are a whole lot of interesting answers to that question. Basically, the program is getting me to better understand my relationship with food, which isn't something I had considered much previously. And I really like that not once have I felt bummed that there is something that I want that I can't have.

I’m going to Florida for a kayaking/NP trip in March, so I decided to get off my ass.
Today was my first day at the gym. It went well and I’m very excited to return tomorrow. And the next day. And then probably not as excited about the day after that but imma go anyway and fucking like it.
I’ve also been “dieting” in the sense that I’m counting calories and making good decisions but not in the sense that I feel completely dissatisfied which would ultimate result in me binging on complete shit. This has been going great, though I’ve been pretty hungry most of the day today. Might need to make some adjustments since adding exercise to the mix.
I have, like, a goal or something, but no real timeline for it. I guess the short term goal is to be much happier with my body come time for Florida.
I’ve also been tracking all kinds of shit in this little book thing, including diet, exercise, sleep, mood, and even making a minor point to write something more diary-style each day, very brief. That’s been cool. It’s nice to look at actual progress on paper.
Anyway writing this here because I’m holding myself accountable and stuff.

People, I haven't taken any insulin with my meals for the past few days. I haven't needed to. In fact, I had to call my doctor's office today because we need to adjust the amount of another medication I'm taking because my blood sugar is so well under control now. I gave the nurse my numbers over the phone and she said they looked really good. This is amazing. I feel so good.
