Just Like Heaven Festival crashed their site and sold out in less than an hour (VIP and GA). Glad to see that a well curated festival line-up can still do numbers.

Could the festival scene be de-bursting??

Dang, good for them! Could the festival scene be de-bursting?? I think this was a testament to having a vision and not stretching the line-up too thin. A one day festival just outside LA, that's stacked great live acts that people like but don't cost an arm and a leg to book anymore. If they had made it two days and added a bunch of filler to increase the cost, I'm not sure it would have done this well. Goldenvoice posted this along with the sellout notification: "We learned a lot, mostly that California wants more indie rock. Hotdamn, what a ride". Hope other promoters can glean something from this too.

They also did a bait and switch and added three additional price tiers this morning. Kind of shady. Yeah, I mean... we knew $99 early bird was the first tier, but they didn't detail what came after that or when until this morning. I've yet to meet anyone who got in on the $99 ticketsand I'm skeptical there were more than a handful, if any. It seemed like it started at $125+fees instead. Even so, that speaks to them seeing the surprising level of anticipation building for this, and shifting prices accordingly. Shady, but but certainly a strong validation of the concept and line-up.

Hoping these 00s bands moving big tickets will lead to the long awaited Stellastarr and Bravery reunions for Coachella. Mooney Suzuki closing the Sahara.

I would have fun at that but wow I’ve already seen a large majority of the artists on that lineup I’d like to see and I’ve only been really going to shows with regularity since 2014-2015 ish.

Dang, good for them! Could the festival scene be de-bursting?? Weird — book a festival that would fly when festivals were good and it will do well.
