Obviously a bizarre lineup all around but they seem to have the comedians for the saturday audience on friday and visa versa.
Garfunkel and Oates opening for Dennis Miller will be good.

The Jon Anderson -> Pitbull -> Sting run would be an experience.

Are we really all going to sit here and say we wouldn't absolutely love a 311 set at a festival we're already attending? That's a dream I've been chasing forever but they just insist on playing Northerly Island year after year after year.

I caught half their set last year at Northerly Island (I had won tickets to the show, and they were closing for the Offspring). The rapper dude was pretty entertaining in that he's now balding and in bad shape, and was sweating profusely within moments of taking the stage. He's also still dancing the same way he did in the 90s, which is funny to see from a 50 year old man. Anyway yes, that would make for an excellent festival set.

When I go to a show, whoever I go to see is my "headliner", and the other band playing is simply "opening" or "closing" the set.

That's a dream I've been chasing forever but they just insist on playing Northerly Island year after year after year. the only time I saw them, they played a free after work set on the vacant lot that has now turned into Block 37. that vacant lot also was where the city put the downtown skating rink before it built Maggie Daley park. edit: www.setlist.fm/setlist/311/2003/block-37-chicago-il-1bd0adf8.html

311 was boring when I saw them 10+ years ago. I still like a few deep cuts on the self-titled album, along with 'Prisoner' and 'Beautiful Disaster', but Jesus, I can't believe how badly I wanted to see those guys so long ago.
