Happy UMS weekend to all those who observe!
Today I'll be bringing the family and we'll be seeing:
King Cardinal Blankslate Pink Fuzz Hello Mary Vacations Beach Fossils SPELLS
My wife only really wanted to go because Ill Peach was on the lineup and they just dropped this morning. Thankfully they replaced them with another Metric-adjacent band.
Anyway, best weekend in Denver.

Hoxeyville is done, in a pretty awkward way. They announced a few days ago that they "would not be able to showcase" (read: pay) one of their headliners, Galactic, and Sam Bush and Holly Bowling have since pulled out as well, saying that they weren't being paid. The promoter blamed the "unforeseen economic downturn, rising costs to produce events, and low ticket sales" but they also did a spring version of the fest for no apparent reason so I think they just overextended themselves. It's a shame, it was a cool little fest, byob (and in recent years, you could purchase cannabis on site) in a really pretty northwoods setting, nice wooded campsites, lots of hiking nearby, super chill vibes.

Wonder if this is a dead & co thing or them without Mayer. After just going to the sphere for the last three shows, I’m itching to see them again be it here or the sphere again next year (which is already rumored to be happening).

It seems to be purposefully vague?

Guess is more details next week. Please send your dream Jerry substitutes in the meantime.
I think they're making too much money to seriously entertain stopping any time soon.

they should have Ryan Adams sit in so we could respectfully separate the art from the artist again on this forum.

Iirc Mike Gordon almost did one of these Dead iterations recently so I could see him being one of the guests

Gordo, Anthony Kiedis, and Jimmy Page would bring the house down.

The overlapping on Sunday sucks. This ends my comments on a festival I’m not attending.

Sleep dropped too.
Fleet Foxes and Jack White on the same day is tempting but not getting any of the hardcore bands on that day will probably prevent me from making the drive.
This thing is cheap cheap cheap though.

This isn't the year for me unfortunately but if Desert Daze is the same time next year it'll seriously be on my radar
Semi-related but I think I've decided I'm gonna do Glastonbury whatever year it is after their next fallow year. I think that's 2-3 years away. Someone else can look it up and see when it actually is lol

Also I know I'm like the only Alex G fan on here but him headlining this thing is legitimately wild still

The internet seems pretty confident that Desert Daze is going to get cancelled. Lots more signs pointing to this keep popping up. Hopefully all the good bands just play in LA proper that weekend instead.

Is it the location or what? I kinda can’t believe it’s not at least breaking even unless those headliners have been soundly rejected by LA?
