Still mindboggling that a fest could book an undercard as cool and interesting as that Sunday, and then put fuckin' Cigarettes After Sex as the headliner. Literally anyone else would've worked better. You could even drop Alex G down to there and I would be cool with it. Bizarre.

Cigarettes After Sex also already have two shows at the Forum in LA the Friday and Saturday of the fest. They were clearly a replacement for someone else and they were a very bad one.

The internet seems pretty confident that Desert Daze is going to get cancelled. Lots more signs pointing to this keep popping up. Hopefully all the good bands just play in LA proper that weekend instead. Now that it's official I went through most of the bands I was interested in and most if not all of them had this as a random one-off rather than it being routed through a larger tour. Seems unlikely that anyone I want will rebook in the city... I guess we'll see.

Yea what was the deal with this? Must’ve been banking on moving a bunch of tickets and it just didn’t happen? Was a really well curated festival, crazy they pulled the plug just 5 weeks after the lineup announcement.

I think a big part of it was CAS has two LA arena shows already that weekend and Thundercat has a Hollywood Bowl show with Justice ten days before it. There just wasn't much draw.

Drove past Union Park on my way home and the bass from Arc Music Festival was setting off car alarms.
Place looks packed

Geese fest would be much funnier if it was headlined one night each by Geese, Goose (American jam band), and Goose (Belgian electronic band)

I think that makes sense, she’s not as big with the country crowd. But it is weird to see still lol

I think late this year/early next but I also assumed that wasn’t actually happening anytime soon, so it’s nice to get a little confirmation

There's a NYT interview with Jelly Roll where he goes on a rant about how voting doesn't matter and then later says he was just joking and it's very fucking weird.
Anyway, my mom is weirdly a huge fan of Jelly Roll.

. Anyway, my mom is weirdly a huge fan of Jelly Roll. He seems like a guy built in a lab for moms to enjoy: -Super generic music -Looks "scary" but has like a very positive message about turning your life around or whatever I'm not shocked. I could imagine my mom seeing Jelly Roll on the Voice and being like wow he has a very powerful voice.

I was honestly surprised to see Tommy James and the Shondells on the lineup, I thought Mr. James had died.
Nope, he's 77.

Do they usually announce this far in advance? Seems wild.
Anyway, Crystal Gayle! Not mad at this lineup at all, really. Certainly will be the worst possible fest crowd though.

I looked back out of curiosity and it's been announced the week after labor day the last few years, so they only moved it up a week
