A mini-fest for the NYC folk ”The co-founders of United Sounds announce the inaugural United Sounds NYC Festival, created to fill the significant gap for the indie music scene in New York City’s fall cultural calendar.” Lol as if every band on the planet isn’t touring in Sept/Oct. Love the late October date. Love that it’s in Red Hook (the only downside being the lack of a subway line). Low interest in any of those bands. I’d maybe go on Saturday for free. |

re: big ears, I'm always still surprised that Michael Hurley is alive and kicking.
re: hardly strictly, you'd think they'd have at least one of the three days where both tuttles are playing [molly's brother plays gtr for a j lee]
edit: Hurley once played of all places, Cubby Bear, opening for someone else who I can't remember right now.

Hopefully they reinstate the "Free Tickets for Parents" thing as well. at the first warped tour, my friend's mom dropped us off and then went to shop and hang out with a friend. hours later i saw her as i was emerging from the quicksand crowd. she said security was extremely lax and let her through. i guess i didn't realize they let parents in for free. |

one day I will go see my favorite contemporary musician and my favorite contemporary musician for babies perform the music of my favorite band but I don't see it happening this year.

Kind of covered in upcoming shows thread, but Metallica is headlining Sick New World which will be April 12 weekend. Very interested to see the rest of that lineup.

I'm sure I don't have them all, but they've been teasing a few on X. SOAD Creed Korn Slipknot AiC POD Primus Two weeks earlier next year...might actually be chilly at night. |

Can they afford all that? I know it's kind of their fest but I figured SOAD would have had to drop for them to even be able to get Metallica on.

If anyone has been to New Orleans Jazz Fest, please share your tips/tricks re: ideal hotel location(s), transport to/from the fest, procuring tickets (is it worth doing any VIP options), etc.
Mrs. Doso is pretty firmly committed to attending in 2025 regardless of the lineup, so I’m starting to scheme now.

So they announced the replacement for Jane's Addiction at Evolution Fest in STL next weekend, and it's Tom Morello. I didn't know he did solo shows.

The social media team may be fucking with people, but I think we get a lineup next week, so we'll see. I grabbed a room with the new date, JIC, but for us it's the mid-level bands that will get us out again. Especially "rare" industrial shows. |
