Tonight, Kanye West wrote shared a social media post supporting ASAP Mob co-founder and VLONE head ASAP Bari. Bari (real name Jabari Shelton) was arrested earlier this year and charged with two counts of sexual assault. Bari subsequently sued his accuser for defamation.
In the post, accompanied by a still of Kanye and Bari in a FaceTime conversation, Kanye credited Bari for the success of “I Love It.” “He broke me out of my pretentious rich n***a shell,” he said. “Bari challenged me when no one else did and when he got in trouble I was scared to say he was my friend just like I did with xxx and that was some pussy shit on my part.” He continued, “Jedis never let perception and cancel culture get between them.”
