Holy shit I forgot all the mom rock. I guess maybe I should've put Paula Cole's This Fire somewhere on my list. I'm tired of 'Angel' now (sorry doggies), but I still like Sarah McLaughlin's singles. I want to say I played 'Possession' once or twice at open mics years ago. I loved Alanis when she was popular, but man, I fell out of love hard with Jagged Little Pill. The only song I can still tolerate on that record is 'All I Really Want'. I'm sick of Sheryl Crow's radio hits (except for 'A Change'), but the deep cuts on her self-titled album and The Globe Sessions are solid.

I've got a bunch of exclusives on my list, but I'm not exactly surprised about that.

wow, "I, Jonathan" came out in 1992. I had assumed '80s. That would be on a theoretical st_hubbins list

Timbo: Swirlies - Blonder Tongue Audio Baton (12) Chvrch: Alanis Morissette - Jagged Little Pill (7) Wretched: Tool - Aenima (4) Pale Hose: Pantera - Vulgar Display (5) Zircona: Elastica - S/T (2) Tweet: Aphex Twin - The Richard D. James Album (14) Goodson: Ryuichi Sakamoto - 1996 (14) Mookie: Afghan Whigs - Gentlemen (7) Ten15: Sugar - Copper Blue (2) Teekoh: They Might Be Giants - Flood (11) Clouddead: Ice Cube - Death Certificate (15) Scoots: Alkaline Trio - Goddamnit (6) Venom: Jawbox - For Your Own Special Sweetheart (5)

That one definitely got a lot of play at my house. My first concert was seeing them open for the Black Crowes at the Aragon on the Shake Your Money Maker tour. That was a great show

I definitely could easily make a list by looking at my CD racks but I'm fairly busy right now IRL. But while I'm on the topic of CD racks and CDs in general, I do think that's something the youngs are really missing out on when they go to college.
Back in the day when you had to call up your freshman year roommate on the phone and introduce yourself and discuss who's bringing what, invariably you'd cut to the chase on what DISCS you had and what music you were into. My freshman year roommate was kind of a dork who was really into NJ Devils hockey but was respectably woke for a suburban Jersey kid and had all sorts of cool underground west coast rap as well as proto midwest emo that was a bit off the beaten path. Nowadays you can just torrent whatever you want and I dont think there's as much individual ownership of musical taste. College was fun and youth is wasted on the young. Thx for reading.

Thx for reading. i remember filling out a form about what music i listened to, whether i was an earlybird or night owl, etc. and that went toward pairing freshman roommates. despite the college/indie rock nature of my list, the bulk of my late 90s listening was old reggae, ska and jazz. when my freshman roommate and i finally talked (only a few days before school started), he was on a big charlie parker kick so he only talked about listening to him. he even said something like "as long as you're down with bird, we'll be fine with music." because of that, we mostly just played jazz albums in our room for the first month or two of school. and it turned out we were both inflating our interest of jazz because we thought the other person was way into it. once we sorted that out, music in our room got a lot more diverse and way better.

The tallying has begun.
If my calculations are correct, there are 561 different albums across all the lists.

Early contender for "things I learned today" when this eventually gets rolled out: David Crosby sings on that Hootie and the Blowfish album
