How is Legacy\Jam / Modern / Someone in between a headliner format you can screw up so consistently? Well, Bonnaroo is one of the only (if not the only) major to have avoided booking The Killers and Muse to date. So, in a way, these are unique bookings. It’s a shame that the repeat is Eminem. A JT, Beyoncé, Fleetwood Mac, could have gone a long way. David Byrne or Arctic Monkeys could have helped out that second line significantly. (Or something more off the wall like Pixies, Stray Cats, etc) |

dang, bonnaroo is......kind of good. too bad they couldn't throw in just one u2-esque act with the top 3 to make it actually good. sturgill, future, and 2 unique bon iver sets is *fire emoji* 2 unique bon iver sets has to mean a for emma set and a 22 a million set, right? That was my thinking; an acoustic set and an electronic set. |

This is soooo close to being worth the money, but, as has already been said, it's headliners are laughably bad. I don't know that I've ever seen a headlining trio without any traditional legacy acts who all had their latest albums completely tank.
That being said, this undercard almost makes up for it. Chic, BSS, Jungle, T-Pain, Trombone Short, St. Paul, Thundercat, Mavis (!!!) Staples, Moses Sumney, Tyler Childers, Japanese Breakfast, Alex Lahey, and Knox Fortune are all fabulous. Not - ya know - drop $700+ to travel to Tennessee fabulous, but still solid bookings.
