if he's doing chella and roo, i have a hard time imagining him not also going to the festival that's paid him insane $$$ to save their skin twice. (not saying that's cg's logic, just mine)
especially if he can get the double grab with osheaga that weekend too.
maybe he's in europe that weekend tho but i doubt it

Well there's that and the fact that C3 does the booking for Roo as well now. Just makes sense that would snag Eminem for Lolla and ACL as well.

C3 does Voodoo Fest too. I'm not sure I can take Eminem twice in a year.

Does this really make Eminem more likely for Lolla? When was the last time someone his size did Coachella, Roo and Lolla? Outkast and LCD did, but those two did literally every festival, and aren't as big or expensive as Eminem.

So it's just LCD then? That further reinforces my opinion that Eminem won't be at Lolla. LCD after Coachella were clearly a pretty cheap get given they did every major (and plenty of minor) festivals, and were by no means a #1 on any poster. I don't believe Coachella, Bonnaroo, Lolla, Firefly and all the others would share a #1, especially Lolla after only 4 years when he was last here.

Well technically Coachella doesn't have a #1 and again most people don't go to multiple festivals so Eminem playing a bunch of fests isn't going to deter C3 from booking one of the biggest acts in the world.

the Livenation thing makes a lot of sense though for them to do it for the first time with one of the most lucratively successful artists in modern music that will bring massive crowds. (i say that all begrudgingly)
unfortunately the "only 4 yearas later" thing doesnt hold much water with lolla since they booked him as their first repeat #1 just 3 years after they booked him the first time

What you guys are saying makes sense, I guess I'm just trying to convince myself that he won't be back. That 2014 lineup was the worst they've had and had me convinced I wouldn't go back to Lolla (which didn't really work out since I've been every year since), so I'm just praying it isn't a repeat of that year.

yeah sorry not trying to piss in multiple cheerio's. i'd hope that lolla doesn't book him again but i just don't see them dodging it at this point in their game unfortunately.
would be thrilled to be wrong and see them grab jay z or yeezy

If he does play The National would be a nice option to go against him

Yeah, If he has a good artist against him, I don't really care if they book him or not.

We've definitely strayed a long way from talking about Bonnaroo in here, but yeah, The National would be nice counter-programming. But unlike Coachella, I just don't have the confidence in Lolla to book a strong enough undercard...I think that's why I'm more annoyed at Eminem at Lolla than Coachella.

Yeah, If he has a good artist against him, I don't really care if they book him or not. I'm not worried about who plays against him since there were good alternatives in 2011 and 2014. It's more just how much of the budget he will eat up, but then again there were some other big headliners in 2011 so who knows.

Hey do we think Bonnaroo will be good this year? I'm starting to get my hopes up!

Well at least the Roo Clues haven't been awful EDM acts, so there's that.

this year's roo clue strategy: let's NOT alienate the only weirdo fans we have that would pay attention to this shit.

Look I still haven't seen the Killers and a fest set is probably the only way that'll change at this point so I'm cool with that

I thought their Lollapalooza set was a lot of fun even though everyone here hated it I actually think the Killers are a really fun band even if their current output isn't great and I would see them over a lot of other bands which included a way more washed up Blink 182

I also was at and enjoyed that Killers set, despite the lack of "Jenny Was a Friend of Mine".

Right? Like maybe they could cut one or two of their multiple covers from their set and play some songs their fans are probably into

I thought everyone was pissed about them being on the lineup and I remembered everyone complaining about it in the actual 2017 thread but maybe they were watching the livestream or something. All I know is I had a great fucking time, especially since they played "The Man" first and got that out of the way for the rest of the show.

What I meant was everyone I know who watched the set liked it. I can't speak to people who didn't attend Lolla.
