I find it very hard to believe there will be two headliners for the dads at lollapalooza 2020 I could see this happening. Like RCHP & Rage, or RHCP and Foos, or RHCP and Black Keys.

Rage and RHCP do seem a lot more likely than Pearl Jam at this point in the game. Appeal to the teens as well as the dads

pearl jam play wrigley field and its like a national event, they make movies and records and big-fucking-deals about playing there, they sell it out instantly for basically as many nights as they want to play it, and yet people think they would turn that experience down for 120 minutes in grant park after fucking hozier or something
it doesnt make any sense!!!

Pearl Jam tour announced. No stop in Chicago. That's pretty much a lock for Lolla then, right? They also have no Seattle dates and are having a fall tour. Unless they do Lolla and Wrigley, Lolla won't happen most likely. Maybe they do Lolla in July and Wrigley on September. Who knows lol

The Pearl Jam could also be held at wrigley with the wrigley marquee neon sign replacing the fountain.
pj, connect me with your people. i have amenable experiential ideas that can work for your brand across platforms.

So obvious PJ loves to play Wrigley, but if there were a year to skip it and play Lollapalooza, this is it. - The EU Lolla's are their only festival dates this year and wrap shortly before Lolla Chicago.
- They have a new album out, and presumably want to get press and sales beyond just their dedicated fan base and usual outlets.
- The closest they come in the Spring tour is St. Louis, which is almost exactly outside the rumored 300 mile radius clause for big acts (though that's been very loosely enforced in recent years.
- Lolla has given two hour sets to acts before (see Metallica and Sir Paul) and would almost certainly cover the fine for going past curfew (so closer to a 2 and a half hour set if they want).
- Lolla's head booker has named them as his favorite act in past years, and I think it's obvious they'd do what's needed to make this happen IF Pearl Jam is willing]
Basically, C3 is almost certainly in for a headliner that could 100% sell out their day, bring in a higher spending demo and help move 4-day passes and VIP level passes. The question is, does PJ skip over Wrigley this once to do it? I think they have incentives to, it's just a question of what they ultimately value more. I know we've been burned by the possibility before, but as the person who has been on the PJ boards regularly for the past month monitoring this, there's no one there offering veiled hints at Wrigley like there have been in past years they played. People are, just like here, assuming based off past behavior that if there's a Chicago date, it'll be there. Not saying they're in, but I think it's a real possibility.

The main reason I think PJ is a possibility like you said is, no one on the forum knows anything about Wrigley dates. They usually have that shit on lock already

It's possible, but I still think it's unlikely. The fact that there are so many other options available to bring out a slightly older audience and move tickets, makes PJ less likely in my opinion.

chvrchbarrel messaged me privately and said he’s withholding the Pearl Jam info until wanny admits that they’ve met before. He told me to keep it a secret but I thought that info should be out there.

Why is everyone so confident on RHCP playing this again? Would make it their 3rd time in 9 lineups. The only other band they've had that often was The Killers, and they weren't even supposed to play in 2018 until The Weeknd pulled out last second and they needed an easy out...so that doesn't really seem like a fair comparison.

I haven't followed any rumors or really care who's playing this year but Lolla Occam's Razor suggests that whatever the most obvious and lazy booking answer is usually the correct one.

They're a guaranteed draw and Frusciante's return gives the booking some novelty

Not that it's a shock but no Chicago date for 1975. Seems like a double lock
