Wanny's unshakeable optimism for every Lolla lineup every year is really one of my main reasons for continuing to read this thread. He always assumes the best case scenario and I want to salute his optimism true, but in this case he may want to give it away, give it away, give it away now. |

I do think there will be one big exclusive headliner that isn’t playing the other fests but there’s a nonzero chance it’s like some kind of Logic/21 pilots supergroup

You can usually take whatever the predicted Wannypalooza is each year and get to the actual lineup by doing the following:
- Remove the 2 best acts on Wannypalooza
- add an EDM act
- add KOL or Killers or both
- profit (?)

UrbanMatters Chicago is claiming that Lolla is delaying their announcements because of Coronavirus. Does anyone here have connections with the festival to check on this? Lolla is 5 months away so it seems like an overreaction to suspend ticket sales.

There is no point in suspending ticket sales. Worst case is they sit on that cash for 6 months earning interest and then have to return it.
I'm on the side of the fence that suggests it's too early for them to be thinking about it. Seems more like Coachella will have the first say on whether this will be the summer of cancellations.

idk delaying announcements makes sense. doesnt feel like a great time to announce a huge music festival and put tickets on sale. just gonna be tons of news stories about lolla and the coronavirus overwhelming the coverage. i'd wait a couple weeks and see what happens, especially if the original target date was march 24 as someone posted earlier.

It does seem like most businesses are taking a wait and see approach.
The only thing we've all collectively decided is that there should be no backup plan for the two late 70s men who are going to be criss-crossing the country nonstop and shaking hands with everyone in sight and are totally not going to get sick during the next 6 months.

If I were Lolla's marketing team I'd be scrambling to RUSH the lineup release so I could announce it via handing out postcards to people leaving the rally on Saturday

So unless that rumor was completely off base or they're fundamentally reworking their line-up to reflect big changes in tour schedules, I doubt they're on board. |
