Why is Vampire Weekend coming up so much? They will have headlined 2 years ago in 2020...seems a very short turnaround for a band not named Red Hot Chili Killers.

All of that + they seem locked in for other Live Nation fests like Roo, Gov’s Ball and ACL.

RATM has that feeling of being the Outkast / LCD Soundsystem of 2020. Playing every major, midsize and minor fest, along with every Bar Mitzvah, wedding reception, and trivia night in the country. And even though Lolla has strayed FAR from it's original roots, it still feels right for them to play.

I kind of assumed that Riot Fest would blow a good amount of their headliner budget on them or they would do a United Center show or something

I can see a 2021 Riot Fest booking for them. A lot cheaper and I assume they'll still be touring.
It does seem strange to predict MCR and RATM on the same Lolla lineup in 2020 though. That's a lot of music that the kids won't care about.

Anecdotal obviously but my wife is a therapist and has had several teenagers in her office who will mention their favorite music and it always includes Billie Eilish and MCR. One girl apparently called MCR an "oldies band" lmao

I’d never pay to see Pearl Jam at their own show, but I’d definitely check them out at Lolla if they were there. Unless they played against like Tyler or Lana or someone

That sucks to hear Her show in madison was fantastic, and the best of the 3 times I've seen her, though the consensus seems to be that the shows were hit or miss. She was decent the other two times I saw her as well |
