Am I the only person whose skin feels constantly sticky and gross because of the humidity and dew point lately? Ugh.

No. It's disgusting.
I don't like to passively sweat.

I've found that my car that I bought in November does a really shitty job of defogging the front windshield in the morning when it's remotely humid at all, since that's happened almost every day for the last two weeks

Yeah it’s a little overwhelming to realize I am at least kind of wet at any given point.

This weather is garbage. If we were going to fuck up this planet this bad, I wish we would've gone from "fine" to "catapult into the sun" without this eternal misery bullshit.

i can usually handle warm weather, but this humidity is dreadful.
although, the forecast is that tonight's rain will help for at least the rest of this week.

I was in Florida for a hurricane a couple years back and it wasn’t so bad, though it was one of the “as long as you’re not on the coast you’re good to go” ones. You should definitely read up on all of the necessary tips like stocking up food, where to go in an evacuation, filling your bathtub with water, etc

I think the storm is forecast to linger/move slowly when it is making landfall (maybe after?) and that scenario would cause extreme rainfall and flooding for inland areas.

Early am. 6 to 10 inches. Not terrible, wouldn't at all be worried if like I said my building wasn't essentially in a ditch and I live on the ground floor with a door that leads straight outside.

I thought the bulk of the rain was supposed to take place over the next several days. 6 to 10 inches this early sounds kind of bad.

I've been tracking this storm on the NOAA site for work and I think the 6-10" estimate is for the duration of the storm. Even over the course of two or three days, that's still a fuckload of rain.

It's so shocking to see what's happening in New Bern. A lot of family heritage there - my mother was born and raised there, and my grandmother lived there until her death. Many summers spent out there visiting the Outer Banks and Cape Hattaras. To see it underwater is depressing. My parents live by Charlotte so they're safe for now, but this is just so crazy.

Update on flo
Pretty uneventful for me. Light but consistent rain. Woke up and my ceiling was leaking but nothing some duct tape couldn't fix. Overall,m just seemed like regular rain. Pretty lucky.
