Ok, enough Caribou related content. Here's a cool thing: In February 2010, the iconic poet and musician Gil Scott-Heron released his final album I’m New Here. In February 2011, Jamie xx reworked the album as We’re New Here. To honor the album’s 10th anniversary, XL Recordings is releasing We’re New Again—a reimagining from Chicago jazz musician and producer Makaya McCraven. It’s out February 7, 2020.The Makaya McCraven album from last year ( Universal Beings) is absolutely *spectacular,* if y'all haven't heard it. He took four different sessions from four different combos and recut their improvs into structured, beat-driven pieces. He's the exact right person for this project.

why is angel olsen on the list? the original PR said that she recorded two versions of All Mirrors: the one we got with the orchestra, and another stripped down version. Initially she was going to release them together but then decided to do it separately. I guess maybe that's what they are referring to? edit: here's the PR - www.undertheradarmag.com/news/angel_olsen_announces_new_2020_tour_dates
