Tyler Childers surprise released a new album today. It’s called Long Violent History and is up on Spotify. Edit: forgot to mention that it’s an instrumental album of traditional fiddle songs There are some extremely angry chuds on his socials. Makes me feel extremely good about supporting him over the years

Something from the Fleet Foxes is coming this Tuesday called "Shore." I'm guessing a new single.

Something from the Fleet Foxes is coming this Tuesday called "Shore." I'm guessing a new single. Confirmed through my sources that the whole album is dropping on Tuesday. Its 55 minutes long and is more in line with the s/t than Crack Up. Edit: oh hey they announced it on Instagram too.

I was just wondering if there'd be new Shins in 2021. The last album was weirdly great and their Lolla aftershow was A+++
Insane that Oh, Inverted World will be 20 years old next year.

Looks like the list of films for the Chicago Film Festival is up... www.chicagofilmfestival.com/festival/all-films-list/There's a few in here that I want to try to rent virtually... and will do some research on others I've never heard of. A few films are drive-in only (Nomadland, Ammonite, American Utopia, Bad Hair and The Dark and the Wicked).

Will probably do American Utopia, at the very least.

Daniel Lopatin aka Oneohtrix Point Never has announced his new album Magic Oneohtrix Point Never – a take off of the Boston radio station Magic 106.7. It’s coming out through Warp on October 30, and today he has shared a trio of tracks that form a suite on the introduction of the record.
The tracks are called “Cross Talk I”, “Auto & Allo” and “Long Road Home”, and together they form the Drive Time Suite. The latter features Caroline Polachek

In honor of its 10th anniversary, Women's Public Strain is being reissued in November, but an EP of rarities comes out this Friday featuring their last single "Bullfight" in addition to this:

Canadian jangly indie rock band Kiwi Jr. signed to Sub Pop today and released this new single. It's great, and their track "Murder in the Cathedral" from their early 2020 LP is one of my favorite songs of the year too. Check 'em out!

Stuck at home, like everyone else, during the novel coronavirus pandemic, the Drive-By Truckers have channeled their frustrations with the current state of life in the United States into a brand-new, and surprise, album. The New OK is due out on Friday (Oct. 2). The Truckers' 13th studio album, The New OK, follows January's The Unraveling, and was largely culled from the 18 songs recorded during the sessions, at Memphis' Sun Studios in Fall 2018, for that project. Two of the new record's nine songs, however, were written by Truckers co-founder Patterson Hood over the summer: "Watching the Orange Clouds" and the title track arrived in June and July, respectively, according to Rolling Stone. theboot.com/drive-by-truckers-the-new-ok/
