I'm glad there's no more beer left in my fridge otherwise I'd be more tempted.
I've been drinking a lot more decaf tea at night and that weirdly has been working. It's only two nights in, but still.

A big part of sober January, for me at least, is doing everything I would normally do - but without the booze. I still go to shows, out to dinner, work & social functions, I just abstain from drinking (if you have a sparkling water w/lime in your hand no one will even realize you're not drinking).

Good point about with weed being legal drinking rates are probably gonna drop. I know that's the case with me before all that went down. Thought I was crazy the first year of thinking that.
8 days in and I feel pretty damn good. I've read 3 books already this week!

I am also feeling good and the scale is nice. Not just good physically but self-esteem wise. Feeling more in tuned with myself. Maybe I'll keep it going until Coachella?

Anyone had any withdrawal symptoms? I had a few until about day 3-4. Usually they're a full on week for me when I hard stop but I guess not this year. Maybe the vomiting NYD helped

I've found myself wanting a beer, but never had withdrawal issues.
I wish I had weighed myself prior to starting this because I think I'm already down a few pounds. I've run 4-5 times since the start of the year and feel better ramping that up. It's nice to do that without alcohol impacting my run.
Also I think I'm going to use the money saved by not buying beer this month to treat myself to something. Just kind of carrot to keep going, I guess.

No significant change here. Havent had a drink since the 1st and no real desire. But that could change if I continue to not get enough sleep.

I notice I actually sleep worse during dry January, this year is no different. I guess being clear headed and alone with my thoughts at night isn't a good combo for me?

Usually when I hard stop drinking I get sleep paralysis during the 1st week. That hasn't happened yet, though now that I've typed it out it surely will

This week has been sooooo rough. Team implosions. shit weather. Kid will not sleep more than 45 minutes at a time.
But still haven't had a drop. I've purchased, but not opened some randos I found at the store.
How's everyone else doing?

Still strong. Wednesday was the toughest for me. Just a hard day at work and my commutes to work that day were over 3 hours due to accidents and shit. That one can of two hearted was looking mighty good but I'm still here.
Last full weekend of the month y'all, let's do this!!!

I have to babysit my nephew on Saturday during the day, which means like a 6 am drive to get there in time so I won't be able to do anything Friday night. I am sure I will need a drink after this on Saturday. Not sure if I wanna go out or just grab a za and have a casual night in.
Also still flirting with the possibility of keeping it going, but I need to make some exceptions because I'm getting tired of going out to Happy Hours and not being able to drink or even worse have at times been removing myself from social situations in general.
