That's what I'm thinking. Or Arozarena just becomes one of those pre-arb perennial 5 WAR guys that Tampa rolls off the assembly line. Shout out to facts for this take

The Rays have no fan base actually i read a while back that the rays actually have some of the best tv ratings of any mlb team. it's just that no one goes to the games because it's so inconvenient from tampa.

I'd buy that. I think the big issue the Marlins have (besides being dogshit most of their existence) is that there are other things to do in Florida rather than go to the baseball game, like the beach and meth.

Grandal was excellent at framing this year but pretty awful at everything else, so I wonder how that will affect his chances.
I could definitely see Luis winning, and I really hope Moncada wins before Chapman comes back next year and gets 10 more Gold Gloves.

Figured Abreu would at least be a finalist.

I was surprised he was omitted as well, but I have hopes for a bigger award for him. That contract extension looks pretty good in hindsight.

the mets have gone 5 seasons without any player being a gold glove finalist. that is the longest current drought in MLB. i'm very curious to know the record for that.

They only started announcing finalists relatively recently right? 5 years very well might be the record.

I’m still thinking about this from last night. John Smoltz was right- this feels like a World Series

my dad is a huge dodgers fan. he also went to penn state. i haven't talked with him this weekend, but he's probably crushed. i just hope he didn't stay up to see the whole world series game and only saw the final score.

It's really a shame that that pitching change is going to be the first thing people think of about this series.

Nah that was a great series. Dodgers have been my NL team since I was a kid, so this makes me happy.

Great series. I love so many players on both teams so it was nice to just watch great baseball without a rooting interest.
Really glad this season ended up happening because it's gonna be an absolute bummer to not have baseball for 5 months during the second (third?) wave.

Nah that was a great series. Dodgers have been my NL team since I was a kid, so this makes me happy. I'm not saying it wasn't! You just couldn't ask for a more crystalized turning point. And I'm certainly not disappointed, I would have been happy with a win for either of these teams, especially considering the final slate of contenders. So many great players on the Dodgers getting their rightful due. Great series, even if it didn't go 7.

I'm glad we got a season, even a shortened and strange one. I hope we get something closer to normal in 2021.
