The Yankees almost assuredly pushed some boundaries and I feel it's likely that A-Rod specifically helped some of this along because hes long been considered the expert on stealing signs (and cheating), but the Astros have proven many times that they are willing to push things far pass the boundaries.

The Yankees (and Red Sox) were fined in 2017 for using Apple watches to help steal signs. For what it’s worth at this point, I have heard that at least 8 teams (including the Dodgers and Yankees) are under investigation. I suspect the only teams that weren’t cheating were the Tigers and the Orioles.

The White Sox are clean or they're the worst cheaters in the world. 284 losses over the last three years.

If I ever get caught doing anything bad, I will also deflect with a "my wife!"

It is going to be really fascinating to see if Larry Walker makes the Hall in his last year on the ballot. On public ballots he is currently at 85% and 28 voters who didn't vote for him last year did so this year. However, the difference between who voted for him on public ballots versus private ones last year was -11%. If that ratio holds, he would have...74%.

Looking at his numbers I guess it's less wack that Larry Walker would be a hall of famer but it certainly feels weird to think about for me. He'd be the first Rockie going in right?

Walker is deserved IMO, he was certainly elite when on the field - but injuries kept him off quite a bit. Still, I think he should get in, and yes I think he would be the first Rockie. Helton should be in as well IMO.

Helton (and Rolen) will make large gains this year putting them in a good position for election. Ryan Thibs does a great job of tracking the ballots: link

Bonds did have domestic violence allegations against him at one point. No idea if that is the reason for voting for Sheffield and not Bonds. Trying to parse the logic of sportswriters is a fool’s errand.

The Colorado Rockies will retire the jersey of outfielder Larry Walker on April 19, the team announced Friday.
I'm going to try to be at this game. He was one of my favorite non-Sox players growing up.

Back in the day I kind of always felt like Galaragga was the big bat (or Big Cat) in that lineup but in retrospect Walker does have really strong #s.
But I just want it to be recognized that Galaragga was a beast.

Dude beat cancer, came back and made the all star team, and retired with 399 homers because he clearly DGAF.
Beast.

That Rockies offense in the late 90s was fun as hell. Too bad they couldn't find a decent pitcher.

Love that all of these teams are now scrambling for managers and there is a Dusty Baker bidding war brewing. What could go wrong?

I wonder if Ozzie ever gets another shot. That one year in Miami wasn’t great, but I think he’s calmed down over the years.

If no one is mentioning Ozzie's name in this situation, it's hard to imagine him ever getting another shot. It's too bad because he was a pretty good manager, at least in Chicago.
