I figured the Cubs would end up signing him for a one-year deal. The Cubs are really going to get through this entire offseason without any significant signings, huh?

I feel like the Reds have a low key decent team if everything breaks right

Pretty crazy how much this arbitration decision dictated how much they could accomplish this off-season.

I'm honestly not heartbroken over this. Much as last year was great, I don't want his defense tying up a spot in the outfield.

Hey Cleveland - don't worry! We'll be fine with our outfield of *checks notes* Oscar Mercado, Delino Deshields Jr, Jordan Luplow, Tyler Naquin, Greg Allen, and the husk of Bradley Zimmer. No need to make any improvements whatsoever!

Unless they trade someone I don't see how they fit another OF on the roster.
The obvious answer is to pull the plug on Almora but I feel like Theo cant do it.

yeah, seems clear that anything you want to see accomplished is going to need to be done via trade.

I've added a visit to Sloan Park for a Cubs/Indians game to my Spring Training trip. My buddy and I have lawn tickets at Camelback Ranch and Sloan Park.
I figured Spring Training tickets would be cheap, but they are not.

My initial acts as commissioner:
1. Ban the DH 2. DV punishments include postseason(s) ineligibility 3. Bring back throwing the intentional walk 4. Increase minor league pay to a livable wage 5. Cleveland and Atlanta change their names/imagery

Related to both of these posts, if I was commish I would institute a salary floor. It's fine if you want to tank, but your fans should at least get to enjoy washed up veterans earning more than they're worth while your team is doing so. Owners shouldn't get to turn a profit thanks to revenue sharing. Also we're not getting rid of the DH, because that eliminates jobs, and robs fans of the likes of The Big Hurt, Edgar, Big Papi, and currently guys like EE and Nelson Cruz. If anything, it's only a matter of time before the NL adopts it.

Jeremy Jeffers to the Cubs.
Yolmer to the Giants on a minor league deal. Supposedly turned down major league offers for a chance to start.

Chicago's own Curtis Granderson announced his retirement.
On a personal note I did sit next to the Grandy Man at one of the earlier UFC on Fox cards and talked with him for a bit and can validate the already widespread consensus that he is a top notch dude.
