I saw some other lists had fallen alien and I think one other for twigs. I don't blame them, but yeah, that track is outstanding.

4. Big Thief - Not (293)
Is this the best live version of Not? Prolly not, but it is the one I listened to for almost a year until Two Hands finally included it on record. Also, again, my main musical wish for 2020 is a Big Thief live album.
3. Vampire Weekend - Harmony Hall (296)
Very happy to have been super wrong about the future of this band when Rostam left. Brian Robert Jones and Greta Morgan breathing new life into this group and creating JAMpire Weekend was one of my favorite musical developments of 2019.

2. Aldous Harding - The Barrel (312)
HUGE victory for the Aldous Harding Street Team here at TheBoardDot! I figured this song would do well, maybe top 10, but it was included on all but 2 of our lists and rocketed into the finals. Pro tip: if you see her live, make sure you up front / tall enough to see all her facial expressions. She's the Samuel T. Herring of eyebrow dancing.

1. Sharon Van Etten - Seventeen (388)And it wasn't even particularly close! Every list except for one (.... teekoh) included it, but he had "Hands" instead so we won't shame him too hard. Congrats to SVE for running the table this year, and thanks for y'all for participating!

A fun thing to do is refer to SVE as "Sharon Van" like you're Alex DeLarge talking about Beethoven

This is the first time I have noticed that it's not Sharon Von.

Still say "Hands" is the best song on that record.

Now for some random tidbits about this year's songs lists:
Artist/Album With Most Songs Receiving Votes: - Big Thief 7 - Jamila Woods 5 - Purple Mountains 5 - Vampire Weekend 5
Artists with Multiple Songs in the Top 50 - Big Thief 6, tho to be fair, they really stuffed the ballot box this year - Julia Jacklin 2
Songs that placed top 3 on someone's list....and were summarily left off by everyone else:
- Big Thief - UFOF (1st) - Bill Callahan - Released (2nd) - (Prince Sr.) Princess - I Know (2nd) - The National - Light Years (2nd) - Florist - As Alone (3rd) - Health - Static (3rd) - Lana Del Rey - The Greatest (3rd)
Splitting the Vote Awards, or, artists who made so many good songs this year, we couldn't agree on which was best: - Jamila Woods 5 songs with votes, 0 on the final list - Tyler, The Creator 4, 0 - Caroline Polachek 3, 0 - Lizzo 3, 0 - The National 4, 1 - Lana Del Rey 3, 1
(I included the last two because they baaarely snuck onto the top 50)

but I want to take a moment to appreciate BT's drummer, James Krivchenia. For my money, he's one of the best drummers in the game rn - he's not flashy but always fits the pockets in the band's songs perfectly and makes them float. Levon is a great comp - as well as Ralph Molina from Crazy Horse, IMO. He really is terrific. Can't think of another drummer who does more with less

I know for sure that Mookie has talked about both both years but outside of that it does seem like other albums got more discussion.

Keep in mind, the album came out in January too.
I'm wondering if that's the first time one of our AOTY has been out that early in the year.
