i don't think anyone expected these street fests to happen, but it's going to be weird for there to be no street fests this summer.

I was just talking with a friend, and I don't even think the farmer's market in my neighborhood is going to exist this summer, let alone the street fests.

I'd just like to see mary timony and ex hex play the corner of milwaukee and fullerton again some time, andrewvb. I don't need any other acts anywhere in logan square or bucktown.

I'm guessing any of the early fests (in addition to the ones names above, Do Division, Ribfest, etc), won't happen - but the later ones have a chance. Naperville Ribfest (4th of July weekend) announced they are moving forward but with a scaled back event. It sounds like Pride will still happen but later than usual, and others have proactively moved to later dates (Winnetka Music Fest moved to September 10th & 11th from its normal weekend in June, and Lincoln Park Wine Fest moved from May to October). With that said, should I even bother to start a new thread? Or should we just continue to use this one for 2021 since 2020 street fests never really happened?

Gonna go ahead and drunkenly call this now: the only Chicago street fest that’ll happen this year is Revolution’s generally slated for late September

I'll be curious to see if Square Roots try's to make a go of it this year. Traditionally it's been in July, but I remember last year they were planning to move to August.

It's late enough in the season that they would be allowed to have the festival, but the website hasn't been updated at all. I'm pessimistic on that one, at least in its usual format.

Nope, this is cancelled now too, although their reasoning is suspect at best. In consideration of the ongoing COVID-19 conditions and recently mandated capacity restrictions, theClub has concluded that it cannot reasonably guarantee health, safety, and success for such a large-scalepublic event that occurs in the early portion of the summer festival schedule and is thus susceptible tothe instability of COVID-related conditions like capacity restrictions.
