oh that's just disgusting. I wasn't excited about the album, and now I'm even less interested. I was going to say this morning that I was going to applaud the board because no one put Arcade Fire in their top 5 anticipated albums this fall. We've come a long way.

THREE Everything Now tracks is just so fucking stupid.
I'm not jumping on the Arcade Fire hate train just yet because I think the singles are actually really good (esp Creature Comfort). But the marketing roll out of this whole thing and this tracklisting is just so bad.

you'd think i'd dig a song that sounds like a newer NIN ripoff but the_arcadefire's "Creature_Comfort (continued)" or whatever is maybe one of my least favorite things this year.
"Everything Now" is still fine and fun but now that i know that title is referring to 3 fucking tracks me make like it less on general principle.

I don't think it will tho. I was surprised that they gave Fleet Foxes a BNM though so it's possible.

back to real things -- that WitTR sounds fucking great. hoping Steve from Neurosis shows up for the Psycho set.

The Arcade Fire track list is very annoying: Everything Now: 01 Everything_Now (continued) 02 Everything Now 03 Signs of Life 04 Creature Comfort 05 Peter Pan 06 Chemistry 07 Infinite Content 08 Infinite_Content 09 Electric Blue 10 Good God Damn 11 Put Your Money on Me 12 We Don’t Deserve Love 13 Everything Now (continued) Bad, but not as bad as that most recent Bon Iver album. Might have been the first time ever that a track list made me dislike an album.

They gave Mac DeMarco like 3 BNTs then gave the album a 7.9. Plus they did something similar to Dirty Projectors new one. I can see them panning Arcade Fire, despite the BNT they got a few weeks ago.

love deerhunter as much as anyone, but any time spent listening to moon diagrams is pretty much wasted time.

Was posting from my phone so I couldn't link the video. Besides, I feel like it's easier to just stream it from Apple Music or Spotify anyway.

I don't think it will tho. I was surprised that they gave Fleet Foxes a BNM though so it's possible. really? they've been begging and reporting on that comeback for years. That album was near guaranteed to get like at least an 8.6 from the start. Heavily reported on nearly every aspect of it, two BNTs, band had headlined their fest on their last album, live coverage of their Sydney Opera show, nothing on it was even remotely a departure from their established sound, they just filtered out a lot of the "folky" elements that could have gotten them lumped in with bands like Lumineers and stuff. DP album they liked the singles but as a whole many parts of it are disjointed and fit awkwardly together. Some songs the electronic elements end up ruining the songs and just feel tacked on. There was also a somewhat contested breakup back story and lyrics that could be seen as being misogynistic. Mac their review basically just said "these songs are all great as songs but the album is very safe, samey, and really does nothing new besides adding some acoustics." Which is true. Album is dull and snoozy. AF album will probably get a high 7s score, hardly a pan, and they'll talk about the band's overblown ambition and lyrics that "fall short" or something.

Uhhhhhh that National song is incredible. If these first two tracks are anything to go by this has the potential to be my favorite album by them yet.

Doldrums has two albums under his belt, the first one was great (Lesser Evil) back in 2013, the follow up not so much. His third outing comes out tomorrow and it's apparently streaming here: doldrums.persona.co/
