Hasn't really sunk in how special this season has been. I've watched every Illini game except for two this season, so it's easy to nitpick and be pessimistic when I see the flaws up close daily. But if I was a fan of another team, I'd be terrified of facing Illinois.
I'm so happy for Ayo, and I am so thrilled to see what Curbelo and Adam Miller can do as freshmen on the national stage. I've been waiting literally half my life for an Illini team this good again. Let's go win this thing.

i'm still salty about brad underwood leaving oklahoma state after 1 year for illinois. really left osu in a bind and they ended up hiring one of underwood's assistants (who never head-coached before) and thankfully that has worked out ok. also helps when you have cade cunningham on your team!
and it's very interesting that illinois and osu could meet in the sweet 16 if they both win their games.

My dad only gives a shit about non-bears related sports when the Illini are good. Roughly the only non-bears related sports memories I have with him are when he asked me to fill out his office’s brackets for the tournament (I won him a few hundred bucks in high school somewheres).
Today he asked me to fill out 2 brackets for him: one where the Illini “win it all” and one that is “realistic”.
So I’m oddly invested in this UCLA vs. Michigan state spartans presented by Rocket Mortgage game
