I think everybody going from here is vaccinated but just in case here is some actual reasonably definitive info regarding required tests for entry from the Chicago Department of Public Health.

Wonder if they are going to have separate lines for proof of vax vs test results, because the latter sounds like it's going to be ripe for arguments and delays.

If I was going this year I would 100% be at the gate pretty early compared to normal.

This is going to be such a cluster. I do not envy anyone tasked with checking tests or vaccinations, because I'm sure there will be assholes who argue that they have a right to be there without proof and hold up the line as a result.

I’m finally checked into my hotel room an extremely long day. cg wasn’t kidding about the heat in the loop. Even with the sun down it’s still really humid. Hopefully that goes away with the rain. Anyway, my planned schedule:
Aly & AJ > wander > Orville Peck > Flo Milli > Jimmy Eat World > Playboi Carti > Kim Petras > Miley Either just show up for Tyler or hang around the Grove until Tyler plays idk Hinds > ? > Freddie Gibbs > Megan > ? Princess Nokia > Young Thug > Brittany Howard > JPEGMAFIA > Modest Mouse > Band of Horses > Foo Fighters
I’m feeling very good about Thursday and Sunday, pretty good about the three acts I like on Saturday and filling in the open space with whatever. Friday… just doesn’t have much I care about

I was onsite this afternoon.
There will be no differentiation between Vax and a Negative Covid check, everyone goes through that first at the same set of gates. Then, within 10 yards, through the wristband scan. Then the big queue to get through bag check. Some staff will be given a wristband if they prove vax, but it isn't clear if the same will be true for the general public. My guess is "no" because, just like the over 21 wristbands, once you know what they look like, they're worthless.
There still seems to be conflicting information about the negative covid testing. I've seen people quote e-mail responses from Lolla saying that one test is good all weekend AND that tests are good 72 hours from when the results arrive (instead of when the test was taken). People that are involved in the testing are still being directed to turn away anyone without a negative test within 72 hours of their entry to the park. This seems like the most likely clusterfuck of the weekend. Thursday may be OK in terms of crowd management, but by the time Saturday/Sunday roll around, there are going to be some people surprised about having to retake tests (or, perhaps the rules will have changed by then). The good news is that there are rapid test trucks set up (one at Harrison, another a bit further South), so people should be able to get a lateral flow test with quick results. Not sure if they're free, though.
Found out that Monroe between Columbus and LSD will be closed to all traffic. That may not mean anything to most of you, but it opens up the street for crowds as they approach the North gate instead of confining them to sidewalks. Slightly less "Covid-ey"
Also, I heard 5 songs of Miley's soundcheck. She's gonna play "White Wedding" if anyone cares.

Oh...and the self-service, automated water distribution...
Yeah, those are designed to start filling based on sensor activation (either a hand wave thingy or pressure from the bottle). There will be volunteers on hand "monitoring" but, I don't know how they're going to stop at least one kid from sucking directly from the tap.

Here's a really dumb question - does anyone remember in the past if the bars/chow town code as bars and restaurants on a credit card? Trying to decide if I should activate my wristband with my card that gets more points at restaurants or the one where I'd get more points in general.
