It's January 2021, and somehow, magically, every single person on the planet gets vaccinated and Covid-19 is erased from existence. This naturally means that festivals are back. Seeing this, you are tasked with single-handedly reviving the Music Festival industry with a fest.
This will run similar to the Create-A-Fest 2018 competition- I won't necessarily be putting out price points and things like that, but I'm going to trust everyone will book semi-realistic line-ups which I felt like happened last time we ran it.
Rules
-Sign up in this thread. Please pick a festival name, location, brief description, and date by February 15th, 2021
-Initial line-ups will be due by February 28th, 2021. You can make small bottom line artist additions and further info (day by day breakdown, schedule, map, etc) past that date but please have the bulk of the line-up in by then.
-To be judged, you are required: A name, location, dates, and a lineup. Lineup poster is highly recommended but not required. Additional info beyond that is not required but could help you in voting. Feel free to add non-music stuff to your fest too, such as comedy or events, but please be realistic.
-You will be allowed 1 headliner level reunion and 1 smaller reunion, if you so choose. Your reunion band must consist of alive and able members, no bringing anyone back to life
-First round of voting in early March, head to heads start mid to late March. That will happen in the "Board Projects" forum
-Please keep your lineups realistic, BUT, as a fun caveat- in this hypothetical virus free world almost every band took a year off touring and we will likely have more touring bands than ever, which naturally would drive down fest prices. Feel free to factor that in a bit, but don't go overboard.
-If anyone wants to team up that's cool, and honestly it's cool if you want to do more than one fest as long as they are pretty different from each other.
The first round of voting you should be looking at these things
-Is this fest realistic?: This is arguably the most important thing for the first round, if the lineup is just ridiculously bigger than anything any fest would ever book, that'd be a good reason to vote no.
-Is it well put together?: Does the lineup make sense? Would it be something the target audience (even if thats not you) would be into?
I believe in the past the first round voting was asked "Would you attend this fest", I'm going to instead ask the question "Should this fest move on?" because I want that to be the point we catch any very unrealistic festivals. But if it's realistic and you would attend, you should vote yes.
Head to Head Voting will take place after that from all the fests that move on from round 1 and will mostly come down to which fest would you rather attend, but feel free to give some points if one festival clearly has a lot more effort than another or accomplishes what it's trying to do better. If we have an uneven number of festivals, then the fests with the most "Yes" votes in round 1 may get a bye.
Please let me know if you have any more rule suggestions or general suggestions. And I was maybe overly detailed here but at the end of it the goal is just to have fun with it so please do that
