With things going really well, I stupidly thought it would be okay to change my meds last week, since there's been some unfortunate side effects to Zoloft - weight gain primarily. Wedding coming up and wanted to get in better shape and the doc said Welbutrin would help with that. Since starting it one week ago, I've had an increased irritability, persistent insomnia that just stops and knocks me on my ass, ridiculous mood swings (goofy one minute, outright combative the next - even yelled at my dog for no reason), and just overall neuroticism.
In the last week since changing meds I have: gotten insanely pissed off yesterday at Stereogum for not making Grizzly Bear the AOTW, and started trolling the users - probably gonna get worst comment of the week on Friday, its not something I do; started facebook fights with a number of conservative Nazi sympathizers for no apparent reason; tried to goad my fiancee into a fight last night over cleaning up while cooking vs. doing it after - thankfully she didn't let it escalate; had the worst sleep in my life - last Thursday I didn't sleep at all, and I barely slept at all last night. If you have insomnia, you know how this feels. It's very frustrating not being able to sleep.
I don't know how much more of this I can take. On top of it, I think my friend who purchased our Kendrick tickets for tonight, didn't actually buy them some how, and I'm out $120. Day hasn't even officially started and I'm already angry.
just needed to vent, sorry folks.

that sucks. have you called your doctor to switch back or try a different drug? sounds like some pretty horrendous side effects.
what is the kendrick ticket thing? if he didnt actually buy the tickets then can't he give you your money back?

I am highly sensitive to side effects and my experience is that they get worse the longer you take the drug. It is kind of a pain in the ass, I know but there is no reason to suffer.

Not yet. She said there'd be some ups and downs, and if that happened to cut the meds in half, and do half Z and half W. But it's wrecking havoc on my daily routine.
He's supposed to be following up this morning with Sprint. I helped him pick out the fucking seats, stood over his shoulder, but I suppose its possible that between the shopping cart and checkout he did something stupid. If he somehow got scammed, then I'd assume we're out. I'm hoping he just didn't check his Junk mail folder and deleted the tickets by accident, that's at least easily correctable.

I'm debating about just going back to the zoloft and dealing with the side effects. At the same time, I'm worried that the Welbutrin might be better for me in the long run, I just need to get over this hump. Regardless, I need to do something quick. Gonna call them when they open this morning.

Good luck with all that, Tim. I agree that calling the doctor seems to be the right move. If things are that miserable in the interim, it might not justify any added benefits to potentially figuring out the Welbutrin sometime down the road.

Transitioning to Wellbutrin is incredibly hard, from my understanding, but for what it's worth, it helped my fiancée a ton. She said the transition was difficult and lasted a couple weeks but once it starts to regulate your hormones better it helps a lot. Glad to hear you've been in contact with your doctor. I'm don't know you, but I'm still sorry to hear that this transition has been so difficult. Hope it all works out for you!

I'm not sure if Zoloft is in the family of drugs that you're not supposed to quit cold turkey, but if you stopped taking Zoloft one day and started taking Wellbutrin the next, my suspicion would be that the symptoms you're experiencing may be withdrawal effects from Zoloft rather than side effects from Wellbutrin (which has a reputation for having minimal side effects). Good luck - those symptoms are very difficult to deal with.

Looks like we're getting a Subaru Crosstrek this weekend. I'm gonna negotiate the hell out of this dealership.

She left it up to me to either deal with the side effects for a few weeks, or just go back to the Zoloft. Gonna talk it over with the lady, since she has to deal with me. Also locked myself out of my work computer, email and skype b/c I was typing in the wrong password. The same password I've typed in for a year. Oh and the Kendrick ticket issue is hopefully fixed, Sprint is resending them to my friend within the next 30.

Colorado's not even in the path, is it? I'm embarrassingly excited for this. So lucky to be not only in Nashville but at work which is on the East side of the city and in the line of sight.

My kids start school on Monday, otherwise I was going to take them down to southern IL for the best views of it. Oh well.

Denver is 92% totality. Wyoming and parts of the mountains are an increased percentage, so that's where all the traffic will be coming from. I think Jackson Hole is close to complete totality.

I always have problems with ticketmaster. If any popular show's tickets are through ticketmaster I should just count on not getting one or getting a bad seat.

I have recently found that using the mobile app or even waiting a few extra minutes can be helpful. I seem to recall several others here having that experience. Regardless, your mileage may vary, and you're not wrong. The system is shit.

What up Lollaboard? I've been lurking for quite some time, figured I might as well start posting and introduce myself. Currently residing in Knoxville, TN. Born and raised in Wisconsin. Favorite concert I've seen this year has been Roger Waters. Some of my favorite concerts have been Rage Against the Machine, Paul McCartney and Arcade Fire. I've gotten a lot of great music recommendations from this board over the years. Thank you all! Looking forward to contributing to this group. Welcome!

I thought Josh Ritter and Jason Ritter were the same person until about a week ago and i realized I've likely confused people in every conversation I've had bout the show parenthood.

Thanks all! Neader, you're in Nashville right? I spend a decent amount of time over there and in Asheville, NC. Merchants of Beer is pretty cool. Just opened this summer. They're doing a lot of work on bringing Knoxville around. Lot more to do than when I moved here a few years ago. Alady, I grew up in Elkhorn, right near Lake Geneva. Went to school and lived in Eau Claire for a while. Decided to move south cause I had enough winter and the cost of living here is fantastic. Neat, I grew up around there too.
