I’m gonna listen tomorrow. I really appreciate your recommendation. I’ll listen to one very white artist a week that you recommend.

Garth is great. If Tomorrow Never Comes always gets me. I’ve only ever seen him solo acoustic during his Vegas residency where about half the set was covers but I’d love to see a full band show.

the fuck kinda poll doesn't have "why does this man look and sound so much like the prodigious Chris Gaines?" as an option

robert reynolds, of the tex mex country band the mavericks, although he was kicked out of the band about 8 yrs ago due to his then heavy opiate addiction.

I’ll never forgive Garth for doing a terrible cover of Dylan’s “To Make You Feel My Love” that I heard too often at lousy weddings back when my friends were all getting married

I also want you to know that I know that todd rundgren wasn’t married to trisha yearwood

He is good for playing the Biden inauguration and turning down the Trump inauguration. Prob pissed off a lot of MAGA folk by doing that, too. He played Obama's first inauguration as well. Also Tweet I don't think he's a " noted Republican "

Garth Brooks is good. I paid $11 to see him at the Allstate with Driftwood. Guy brought the house down.

I'd never pay to see one of his shows, but I like a few Garth tunes - Beaches of Cheyenne, Much Too Young, Calling Baton Rouge, The Dance, even Friends in Low Places.
When he hosted SNL, apparently he didn't want to be cast as any kind of 'cowboy' character in any of the sketches - he wanted to get far away from that persona.
Edit: If he played in my town and it was $20, I'd go see him.

Also Tweet I don't think he's a " noted Republican " i was gonna say that too but noticed the article tweet linked calls him a "noted republican" so it's their fault. still seems like a dumb way to frame the poll, though, given the fairly progressive views he's shared on social issues like his whole career.

Years ago (early to mid-90s), Garth ate lunch at a restaurant where my sister in law worked. He made a big deal with the host staff and the managers that he didn't want to be bothered by "fans". This turned out to not be a problem, because even though Garth had on the cowboy hat, nobody in the restaurant cared.
