Yea idk, this year has been kinda weak. But I'm intrigued by the extremely high placements of niche acts on here. Who tf is Fiddlehead? Guess I'll find out Fiddlehead is a good rock album, reminds me of JEW or Thrice. Not the best of the year though

Still about two months behind on new releases, but these are the only four that have separated themselves from the pack as Tier 1 albums that would probably be in my top 10 in any given year.
Katy Kirby - Cool Dry Place Jack Ingram/Miranda Lambert/Jon Randall - The Marfa Tapes Cheekface - Emphatically No Buck Meek - Two Saviors

I just checked in with Timbo who said he won't be running the year end list project this year. That being said unless someone feels strongly about it I'll run point with it this year (I'm just doing an album list). Figured it'd be a good way to teach myself some basic excel stuff and keep our tradition going 15 years or so later.

It's all yours. Considering we'll probably only have like 5 lists, it shouldn't be too much I'm sure.

Lucy Dacus and Torres are the only ones for sure I'd say to give another chance, they will rank high on my list. I agreed with what you said about Idles, it's a little better than the last one, but still no where near as great at Joy. And RAP Ferreira put out a new album last week, hopefully people check that one out as well

Ratboys- Happy Birthday, Ratboy Low- HEY WHAT Geese- Projector Snail Mail- Valentine The John Denver Airport Conspiracy- Something’s Gotta Give! Lots of middling projects in that list that I won't be giving second spins too, IMO. But these first six will probably place somewhere high-ish on my year-end list. Wild Pink and Low top 5 contenders. Never heard of the last one, but I saved it for the band's name alone.

I really wish I liked that Steve Gunn record more than I do, but it felt like a lesser version of his last three LPs to me. I ought to give it another listen tho, maybe today will be the time for that.
Agreed re: IDLES discourse too. Absolutely a step up from their last one, but I'm not, like, dying to hear it again.

Under my own goddamned rules I think I will have 2 December 2020 albums in my 2021 list. Vote in this board's year end list (which I'm confident is older in tradition than at least one "major" publication and probably several others) to see if you can be apart of history's next great list making technicality
