Context: Over the last several days, my entire friend group (non internet division) has been obsessed with the fact that several grown ass adults in our circle (ages 24-30) believed this to be a U2 song. There are many U2 jokes to make and I have made most of them in previous versions of this board. It has turned my brain into an overcooked microwaved pretzel.
But I ask you now- what the fuck?!?! Does anyone on this forum also see this as a potential U2 sounding song???

U2 did have that phase around Pop where they were trying more goofy stuff, but yeah, it would even be a stretch to believe it came from that time period

The Edge was once asked what song he wishes U2 would’ve written and he gave this song as an answer. He said the first time he heard it he couldn’t believe it wasn’t a U2 song already.
So I voted yes. I hear it and while I don’t think it’d be better if it were by U2, it came out within 2 years or so of All That You Can’t Leave Behind and fits *perfectly* on that album as opposed to Pop.
