Happen to be in Barcelona this weekend and could maybe swing goinf tomorrow. How do the overall logistics and experience compare to some of the major US festivals? Any first timer tips? It’s a great fest for doing half-sets and sampling a bunch of artists. Like mookie said I do think it is easier to bop around than the big US ones. Drinks and food are p cheap. If the lineup interests you enough there’s no reason not to check it out. Overall been having a great time. Today was probably twice as crowded as yesterday with all the Lana campers (I saw Jessica Pratt and Clipse instead and both were incredible, no regrets). Haven’t had any issues getting into the Auditori (went to Disintegration Loops, Chelsea Wolfe, and Jessica Pratt right when they began, no stress) or with food/drink/bathroom lines EXCEPT when Lana ended and the rest of the fest got flooded by a sort of mass loitering…

Thanks for all the input. Gonna try and make it out.
Also, surprise Party Girl set with Charli, George and AG Cook in a few hours.

Weather was horrible all night, my friend and I left before Charli because we were soaked and exhausted : / Hope you didn’t regret me telling you to go, joe lol.
Still good fest overall. Probably the best as far as size vs. lineup diversity goes. Auditori still maybe the best sound quality of any venue I’ve been in; hearing Jessica Pratt and Disintegration Loops in there was especially nutso.

I'll do my full writeup in the review thread, but I have to say I tried to go to the Mandy IN/ Model/Actriz show tonight at Sala Apolo.
Mandy were great, they were first. They then had two bands I gave zero fucks about (Royal Otis and Lemon Twigs) scheduled in between, with over 3 HOURS TOTAL to wait for Model/Actriz
I took a LOOOOOONG walk and saw a part of the city I wasn't able to see during the trip, sat and had a chocolate croissant, and the went back in and LEMON TWIGS WERE STILL ON. They are seriously the most bland and forgettable and completely un-noteworthy, that I seriously just gave up and went back to my hotel. Oh well.

Real scattershot review while I have downtime:
- Jai Paul probably the only bad act I saw? Dude is so boring live, which is crazy because he had a full band. - Beth Gibbons exceeded expectations; solo album’s not my favorite but it is glorious live. Voice is still incredible. She did ‘Roads’ towards the end and I might have cried. - Pulp good as always. PJ Harvey was amazing. Justice was a fun dance party and their production is objectively good but the video feed was just them standing perfectly still taking their silly prog rock techno very very seriously and I feel like more interesting visuals would’ve helped a lot. I believe those are the only three ‘headliners’ I saw. - I don’t like The Last Dinner Party record at all but we ended up at their set and they are unfortunately good live. Same with Amyl. Both acts I’d happily see at a fest again. - Weird Warehouse stage inside a dark parking garage is lowkey best stage. Especially good way to escape the rain. Saw Eye and Mica Levi and Phew in there and all were a blast, love that those types of acts get booked by a fest of this size and broad scope. - Water refill stations once again very sparse and also hidden away. Map was inaccurate in a lot of instances. - Lana campers please never talk to me again.

Lineup tomorrow. That wasn't a long wait.
I think they said FKA Twigs will be there when she dropped off this year's lineup
I also can't afford to go back this year so I need the quality to dip for one year

Very TikTok headline with an ok undercard. Plenty of good acts but nothing to travel for imo.

very good lineup but nothing that I'm really jealous of that I haven't seen here recently or likely will be playing Chicago next year.

Dogshit headliners but man that is a great lineup otherwise. Good news that a lot of those bands will be on the festival circuit this summer.

Very good line up but it’s really weird seeing such little diversity in music genres for the headliners at prima.

47 acts I'd see, which is insane but pretty typical for Prima. Not into the full pop headlining slate. I'd think that trio is going to look pretty familiar once the rest of the big 2025 lineups start dropping.
Traveling to this isn't in the cards this year, but this lineup - while prolly the best in the world again - wouldn't get me there anyway.

Porto is definitely on my radar at some point. Such a chill and lovely city with cheap and amazing food.

Salem at the Bottle is one of the more memorable shows I’ve ever seen.

Is that the one you slept through

You wish.
This one involved someone direct in front of the stage yelling at Jack that he was a “fucking f****t” at the top his lungs for the first song of the set

For whatever it is worth there are apparently like three bands called Salem and one of them is Spanish so I have to assume it is that one playing Primavera

Which show did you sleep through? I never remember…other people on here will. It was a P4K after show. Sleeping at the Bottle didn’t fly with the employees. Very uncool on their part.

Clubs are very anti-sleep. Don’t they realize we’re all post-tired after a long day of shit? Side note: I was at a GnR concert at MSG in like 2018 or 2019 maybe. Got a cheap-ish last minute production release ticket in the 100s but side stage. Guy next to me slept through about half the show. No one asked him to leave!
