J. Cole is such a waste of a headliner spot. I am sure I will get over that soon, but he's probably the most boring rap act they could put in the top 4. Metallica/Dua/Green Day is a fun 3 nights of headliners though. I admire your optimism, but I'm expecting dua lipa to be scheduled opposite one of those two bands she wont be the top 4 wont conflict

Most likely something like Metallica vs. Lil Baby Green Day vs. Doja Cat J. Cole vs. Kygo Dua Lipa vs. MGK You could potentially flip Kygo and MGK, but I feel like there is too much audience overlap in the Dua/Kygo pairing.

Is this gonna sell out? I really don’t wanna buy a ticket today. I will almost certainly end up going tho- I liked having basically headliners Thursday and Friday and full days Saturday/Sunday

That seems like an extraordinarily small undercard Acts like Bob Moses and Chelsea Cutler are on the 8th line and play the Riv. Same with Beach Bunny and Dashboard on the 9th. Seems about right to me.

I have yet to see a festival post-pandemic stay above face value (including Coachella wk 1), so while I will likely buy today and I am sure there will be deals to be had on 4 days closer to the festival.

Word in the Italian community is that Maneskin is skipping Chicago on their fall tour. Make of that what you will the fall tour is in November & December... I'd pencil them in for 101.1 wkqx the nights we stole christmas or maybe a christmas themed concert by WXRT or WCHI No offense you're one of my favorite boarders but I hope this is the last time you doubt me when I bring intel from the Italian community.

At first glance, the non-headliners I know and am excited by:
Charli XCX Glass Animals Jazmine Sullivan Idles Turnstile Zhu Kaskade King Princess Maneskin Royal Blood Manchester Orchestra Local Natives (man, it's been a while) Sam Fender Caroline Polachek Bono's kid Remi Wolf Dashboard Beach Bunny Tinashe Wet Leg Duckwrth Dominic Fike Banks Bob Moses Auditing these hyperpop acts from a safe distance And whatever Jane's gets up to
Plenty more I need to get familiar with, but feels like enough to fill up the better part of 4 days.

Surprised Billie Eilish isn't on there, is she playing elsewhere in Chicago around that time?
Would've pegged Green Day for Riot Fest. Their 2010 Lolla set was a lot of fun.

I actually do not hate this lineup, they actually made an effort in the lower lines of the lineup for once.
I'll still volunteer for it and get in free, not paying for this

Metallica at Lollapalooza 2022 will be interesting. Remember the 'controversy' about how their fans turned their backs on Tame Impala subbing in 2015? Idk who could sub in that spot and get a better reaction on this lineup. I guess IDLES could technically sub based on this billing, but that seems a wild overbilling.

Also - the best billing is obviously Maxo Kream right next to Whipped Cream. A-tier work from the billing folks.

Are we talking the act that plays before them on the same stage? So like there's still another act in between on the opposite stage? If so Idles would make sense where they are billed on the poster Royal Blood would make the most sense I think but they are probably billed too far down

Throw a mosh pit their way and see what happens. (Royal Blood, Idles, Turnstile all seem like possibilities -- Jane's also has to play sometime)
