Lmao I thought this was a joke but it's not? I was going to respond with one of the song titles from the Dead Kennedys Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables LP, but couldn't decide which one -- they're all appropriate, as are the rest of jello biafra's oeuvre. i really thought this was going to be a board running gag, but no... he's actually booked (unlike gnarls barkley)... at least he's in the bottom four lines

Based on the Oscheaga daily lineup I'm assuming Dua Lipa is going to be on Saturday with the main stage being: Charli -> Dua Lipa I think it's more likely Dua plays Friday, but I would love this

I forgot I like a lot of Kygo remixes he does of Whitney, Tina and Marvin Gaye. I'd see him if he was against J Cole

Mainly went with Saturday because Charli seems like a no brainer sub headliner for her and Charli plays Oscheaga on Friday

Might be the first time I've ever been interested in a death metal/core song. Sounds cool

Went through the last 3 lines of artists tonight and it's a really encouraging bunch of acts with a few shit tier choices. I'll leave Rango to his annual review, but some thoughts - Burst out laughing to Willie Jones. Reminds me of Deliverance-era Bubba Sparxxx meets some Nelly/Florida Georgia Line schlock.
- Giovannie and the Hired Guns sounds like if Uncle Cracker was from a Texas border town.
- Peter Cottentale produces for Chance and has a song featuring him, so there's the smart money for your annual Chance cameo (if that still excites anyone). Kinda sounds like what you'd expect given that lead-in.
- Prentiss is 15 and sounds like a floating Kid Laroi
- Jordy and Rosie both feel like the iHeart industry plants in the first few lines. Could blend into any curated playlist.
- TAIPEI HOUSTON are Lars' sons. Not much recorded material out there, but they seem to be doing a glorified Royal Blood tribute act.
- Jesse Jo Stark is somewhere between Lana Del Rey and Orville Peck, but probably not as interesting as that sounds.
India Shawn seems legit fantastic and has numerous talented collaborators like 6lack, Anderson .Paak and Unknown Mortal Orchestra. The obvious must add off those 3 lines. Daisy the Great (harmonic indie rock/folk) and Lorna Shore (see above) feel like other standouts. L0L0 could have potential as a fun pop punk set in the Avril vein, but also seems like that was a conscious rebrand after a more synth-centric 2019 debut so who knows.
Rawayana seems to be the most streamed artist on these lines and have a fun, reggae infused sound that feels well suited to a summer day in Grant Park.

Somehow lost my note on Binki, but he also seems worth checking out. A lot of his instrumentals remind me of 2010's indie dance music and he has a UK style almost spoken word delivery/vocals.

I saw Francis and the Lights at the Metro a while back and Peter Cottontale was billed as the opener. It ended up being a Chance set, yeah. Mostly random gospel stuff rather than actual songs of his but there were definitely a couple sprinkled in. Chance will definitely be at that set.

I guess whoever this Joyner Lucas guy is throwing a hissy fit over his billing on Twitter and is definitely still going to be on the lineup going forward

Does he? He plays venues like the Bottom Lounge and Reggie's when he's a headliner here. I think he's billed pretty appropriately.

I think billing position beef is my favorite kind of beef. Love that a slight change in font size can show how fragile somebody's ego is.

idk - dude has nearly 8 million monthly listeners on spotify and a few songs with more than 100 million plays.
perhaps he plays Bottom Lounge and Reggie's because he has a bad booking agent...
edit - or it is the price of being "independent"

I was mildly surprised at how low he was billed since students always talk about Joyner Lucas/ J. Cole/Eminem together as their favorite lyricists. I just assumed he was bigger.

Joyner Lucas is significantly bigger than his billing. Terrible, but certainly bigger.

That just means one more possible conflict for me. I was planning on skipping his set. Now watch Lolla go and replace him with someone I might want to see.
