I guess whoever this Joyner Lucas guy is throwing a hissy fit over his billing on Twitter and is definitely still going to be on the lineup going forward He is now claiming his phone was hacked and trying to get back on the lineup. Deleted all his tweets lol

A foaf of mine, who works in the entertainment business in Texas, says that she is hearing chatter that this might be the last Lollapalooza in Chicago. She said one of the supporting factors is Jane's Addiction being added as a sort of last dance for Perry. She also said that the cost structure for the fest is well known to be expensive, especially when there is field damage due to weather.
Grain of salt, but the contract with the city was set to expire at the end of last year, and I can't find any media coverage that it was renewed. Apparently, however, there is an evergreen provision that allowed annual extension if both sides agreed to the terms of the most recent year. *shrug*

Lolla is a cash cow for the city so I hope they're able to work it out.

I can't imagine the city of Chicago would turn down $250 million in economic impact. I assume they would work with Lollapalooza to make it as affordable as possible so they can still have that money coming in. Lollapalooza is the biggest money maker the city has.

I'm sorry about every mean thing I said. You can even invite Eminem and Coldplay back if you want.

Just saw this on the 2022 Ticket page:
"Over 170 performances on 8 stages from 11am to 10pm."
This makes it sound like sets will start at 11:00 am.

Prior to 2011 some stages us to start at 11:15 or 11:30, but they stopped doing that because they couldn't get people through the gates on time to make those sets.

I could see them having some dj on Perrys or something at 11:30 while everyone is rushing in, and considering that one of the opening acts

Coming off of a Coachella that really seemed to revolve around impressive electronic acts (though bands like Pup and Crumb were fantastic), I'm excited for Lolla to veer a bit back towards rock this year. Hopefully the daily line-ups are pretty well distributed.

Reddit seems to be saying:
Thur-Green Day Fri-Dua Lipa Sat-J Cole Sun-Metallica
IMO, I would switch Green Day and Dua Lipa.

I don't think Dua will be Thursday because it's likely Doja will be that day and they wouldn't conflict. Also since the switch to a 4 day format the 4th billed headliner has played Thursday every year except for 2017.
