Maybe this will convince them to go back to a 3-day festival.
Unless they are moving to Arkansas next year and if that's the case fuck 'em.

Do we think they add some new sub headliner acts to the mix to try and goose ticket sales? Or (probably more likely) they cut their losses and just look ahead to what they can do differently next year?
Worried we're going to take the wrong lessons from this and decide they need correct hard back into mumble rap and EDM to thrive.

I just think the festival scene isn't as "cool" as it was, and you can't just cater to younger audiences anymore.

Coachella is definitely the outlier. Only it and niche festivals like When We Were Young and Lovers and Friends and Cruel World have sold well this year in America.

At the lowest point a couple weeks out, you could score tickets for nearly half off after fees for Weekend 1, which is unheard of since Coachella really took off.

Funnily enough weekend 2 ended up near face on the stubhub sites when I checked.
This shit is weird.
Booking machine gun Kelly is definitely not the answer.

Charli XCX vs Beach Bunny...ugh
also, 100 gecs vs Billy Strings sucks
Idles -> Turnstile/WILLOW on the Grove is probably how I'll end my Saturday...not bad

2020s Lollapalooza stays undefeated at booking 6-7 interesting acts a day and then having half of those conflict against each other

It might be dumb, but I'm glad to see Koo Koo Kangaroo on the line up.

There are needlessly too many conflicts on this lineup.
Also J Cole only getting (giving?) an hour on a Saturday night headlining spot is a joke. This man is a joke. Anyone who likes him is a joke.

No time in between IDLES and Turnstile is a bit rough, that Turnstile set should start like 15 minutes later. And then it'd be easier to end the night on it too

My worst conflict is Wet Leg and Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever. Also, 100 Gecs/Remi Wolf/Lorna Shore vs. Billy Strings isn't too good either.

Turnstile is going to be the clusterfuck of the festival.
Gonna wait on aftershows but it sure looks like I’m only gonna go Thursday as it stands.

Man, seeing this schedule is making this fest look much worse to me than it did with just the lineup

It's also hilarious seeing social media comments every year of people not knowing that headliners go against each other.

Also Friday and Saturday are truly all time bad. I don’t know how they let this happen. I think Dua alone saves Friday to an extent. Wet Leg > Genesis Owusu is something. But woooof at everything else. For a certain crowd (read: younger than me) King Princess > Girl in Red is huge but I'm really not into this strain of "I take antidepressants" pop, so... yeah.

Billy Strings leading into Metallica is just terrific. Truly the only interesting thing about this festival is if Billy can win over the Metallica stans up front. I think he can pull it off, but it won't be easy.
