- The moderator offered a few other names that had come up in chat. Most rattle by, but when she dismissively says 'A lot of people here would love Taylor Swift, but we know she's not really a festival girl" he jumps in and says "well, I wouldn't be so sure about that..." or something to that effect. Seems to imply that she's at least entertaining some bookings in the coming year or two.
I really doubt Taylor Swift ever does the full festival circuit but I also feel like she's bound to play Coachella at some point. I feel like nearly every major star is going to play it at some point. I'd almost guess maybe he heard rumblings of her being the 3rd headliner there Folks seemed to immediately be jumping to the conclusion that he was teasing a Lolla booking, but I'd wager it's more likely she's potentially playing Coachella and ACL given how those fests align with her brand (and their typical budgets compared to Lolla). |

Wasn’t the foos show announced on a Monday and tickets went on sale on Tuesday? Don’t totally remember but I think it was teased first then tickets were the next day?

Genuinely excited at the possibility of going to this.
I've still never seen Green Day and it's possible they're the band I have listened to most in my life without actually seeing them live (even though most of that listening occured 15-20 years ago).

I participated in a Lolla Discord AMA with the head booker, Huston Powell, a bit earlier this evening and a few interesting takeaways. TLDR is that Kendrick and Billie Eilish seem like they might be on deck for 2023, and Taylor Swift might be entertaining US festival offers. was there any chatter in that AMA about long-term feasibility in chicago? or was that bit about "Chicago has so many venue options, supports so many festivals and is a part of almost any tour routing, which can make it particularly challenging to book and schedule" sort of writing on the wall? No, I thought about asking that directly but figured it would get a dodge like the 2020 question since it's not really his place as a booker. He's not gonna get out ahead of C3 and break that news, even if they're staying. That'll get fed to some media publication first.
I did come away optimistic that it's staying though just by how assured everything sounded. No reference to special considerations or challenges next year or hints of Lolla branching out. The Chicago stuff was really brought up as part of a question, not something he proactively inserted into the conversation.
We'll probably get finality on this by Sunday when they do or don't announce new dates.
